This year I need some heated gloves but can't choose form the selection out there.

Ive looked online at the:
- Weise Montana Element Glove 7v
- GERBING XR7 HEATED GLOVES - 7V WITH BATTERIES
- Tour Master Synergy 7.4V

They all seem to do the same thing... Anyone got some experience with them?

Only had the Gerbing and returned them after about a week.

They are excellent in terms of heat and keeping hands/fingers warm, however they were just too bulky for me. Riding mostly city, dexterity and response on the brakes are important for me and they caused a fumble that nearly sent me into the back of someone.

If my commute included mostly motorway I probably would have kept them.

Heated gloves are worthless as I keep saying. Muff, Heated grips and heated jacket.

You will buy them anyway and tell people how fabulous they are and next year you won't use them because of some excuse you make up in your head. Just don't do it.

Have used the Gebering XR12's every winter for last 5 years. Love them. Yes, bit on bulky side, with huge cuffs. Bit I guess less bulky than trying to keep your hands warm from padding alone. Always super warm, including backs of hands taking all the wind chill which heated grips alone won't help you with. Always totally waterproof too, never leaked, and draw string cuff design stops water running down arms into them. Though i do always use some Nikwax leather waterproofing stuff on them from time to time.

Had a few electrical issues with them over the years, but Gerbing's lifetime warranty on electrical side has always been held up, with them turning a new set of gloves or controller round in a couple of days - especially important when they die in middle of winter and you ride everyday! That said, last pair I swapped was 2.5 years ago, definitely held up better - about to start 3rd winter with them, so I reckon they must have ironed out a lot of the quality issues from past now.

While I agree that yes, heated grips and muffs are a good solution, I made my own heated glove liners, and despite the faff of having to connect wires when I put my gloves on, I've used them a lot over the last four or five years and across a few different bikes.
I ride a naked bike, so once the temps drop the homemade heated liner goes in the jacket as well.

Agreed. I'm also on year 5. I had to replace the controller once, which I think Gerbing gave me free at the show. Obviously, there's always a slim chance of getting a duff pair, as there is with anything, but anyone who says they don't work or are a waste of money hasn't actually owned a pair.

They're fairly bulky, as to be expected of a pair of winter gloves, but it's certainly nothing that you don't get used to after you've worn them a couple of times.

I would absolutely replace them when they die and wouldn't do winter riding without them.

Always wire in, though--the optional battery packs are shit and restrict wrist movement.

Gerbings here, love them. Had a fault with the charger, Gerbing just shipped me out a new pair of gloves.

I agree with the above that nothing can beat muffs and all heated gloves I have tried are not very good as glove.

I do have used heated liners and I am happy with them. The advantage is you use any gloves you like with them.

I'd rather wear summer gloves where I can feel what's actually going on, with Tucano muffs and heated grips.

All last winter, no problem

The choice will depend on your driving. I often drive more than 150 miles a day in cold. And battery for 7 V gloves usually last for about 2 hours
Muffs also won’t work - I have both muffs and heated glove liners from Warm’N’Safe, linked to the battery, 12 V. Long distances require glove liner, short distances - muffs and winter gloves

I had a pair of Keis gloves but as above they were too bulky.
Muffs with heated grips is the way forward it then means I can use my summer gloves all year.

there are 2 answers.
if you have to use a bike in bad weather then good muffs and any old heated grips is the way forward.

however if your finances can stretch a little you can use a car,
i love bikes i love riding bikes but there are times when you have to face the facts that a car is better at warm and dry all over than a load of gear and some grips.
this is also true going into town on really hot days.
sitting in an aircon box is better than the sweaty fest.
