Looks like its going to be a twat of a winter.
Feeling it already on the motorway commute (at 5am the chill comes early) so ive decided to go for some muffs.

Whats the deal with these things? Are they universal fitting or do i need to be weary of size/model

Is it worth the money for the big brands or any recommendations for a cheaper offering?

Tucano Urbano are the muffs of choice.

Many of the other brands don't have any rigid reinforcement, so they just fold over when you're doing motorway speeds and press on your levers.

You fool!

You missed our on a perfectly good double entredre opportunity.

For instance:

I'm going to muff dive.

Dive into muffs.

Keep my fingers warm in a muff. Confused Kids today don't see a good opportunity when they see one.

On a more relevant note my Tucano Urbanos have outlived numerous CBR6's I've owned. I put them on my 1999 version way back in 2009. Granted there was a 3 or so year gap between 2009 and 2018 they are still water proof but the elastic has become loose around the bar inner bar end as have the plugs onto the bar end.

This has been resolved with cable ties.

Quality muff + some cheapo electric grip warmers from eBay are a great combo.

Tucano urbano.

I bought a pair in 2011, been using them every year since. Been faultless. Still furry, deep and warm. No damage from hard hand action.

Nothing beats getting up to the wrist in a furry muff on a cold winters morning.

As said, the Tucano Urbano are awesome. waterproof and windproof, add in some heated grips and you can use summer gloves all winter.

nice

Golly, I hadn't realised they were so capacious! Like the proverbial Wizard's sleeve.

Another +1 for the tucano urbano muffs. I've used the same pair on the last 3 bikes (~4 winters) and they're as good as new still.
I also use mine as a pocket for other items, like my ecig and a napkin for my visor. Laughing

There are smaller, less cavernous openings and less fur on the newer models, but for comfortable entry and withdrawal you can't beat an old furry muff.

I have Tucano Urbano for 2 years, 25k miles. They lost colour, still waterproof though. If I had to choose new muffs, I would go for another brand
It is important to make sure your muffs don’t collapse from wind

Very disappointing.

Oh come on! We've tried our best with 'Cavernous openings' , 'comfortable entry, 'Wizards sleeve' , 'up to to your wrist in furry..' etc.. What more do you want?

I inserted my hands into my wifes muffs this morning on the way to the bikes MOT.

Tucao urbanos. If anything, my hands were too hot in my summer gloves.
