Just got back from the Killspills rally, living in SE London I didn't do the run back up to the Ace once we'd parked up outside Parliament.

Absolutely loads of bikes. No one knew exactly how many but rough estimates were around the 1000 mark.

I got to the Ace about 10-45 this morning and as I pulled up to turn into a parking space, thought to myself that yellow and black CBR waiting in the queue immediately in front looks familiar... quite by coincidence I'd managed to arrive at exactly the same time as Bendy.

After we parked up, Bendy spotted Major Grooves arriving and we joined him. There then followed a fair bit of hanging around, wandering around marvelling at the number and variety of bikes. Gradually we linked up with other BCF members including Smoto Bob, Claud 14.7 to 1, JonRisby and katana (and others that I can't put a name to a face, sorry Embarassed )

We didn't set off from the Ace until around 1pm and it took a fair while for everyone to get unparked. It was then mostly a very slow progression into Central London, with only occasional bursts of speed, good slow speed control practice! We were riding for the most part two abreast in one lane. The police bikes were controlling all the junctions to allow us through without stopping. There were quite a number of people at the roadside at various points waving and taking pictures. One or two impatient car drivers who tried to cut through the bikes got pulled over by the cops for (I expect) a good talking to.

Into Central London, down the Mall, honking and waving, then into Whitehall to pull up outside the Houses of Parliament. Major Grooves, Bendy and I were in just the right position in the convoy to get to park right outside.

A great thing to be part of, let's hope that it does some good.

Just got back myself, as we did the return leg.

Really good fun actually, there's something curiously satisfying about being the ones *causing* the congestion instead of the ones nipping through it. Plenty pissed off cagers, but plenty supportive ones as well. Lots of people out to wave at us and loads of rather bemused tourists pointing camera phones at the huge snake of bikes weaving its way down Park Lane with much beeping and revving. Cool

We were near the back of the snake, which was actually pretty cool when we set off again from parliament as everyone went up a road to a roundabout and doubled back on themselves - being at the back we just saw this endless stream of bikes coming towards us.

A personal favourite moment was that the snake went past my old flat in both directions. Hope my neighbour who said I 'lowered the tone of the street' with my bike enjoyed it. Laughing

Hopefully it'll get some half decent press coverage and get the kills spills message out there. Thumbs Up

Here are a few of my pics (actually all bar one are frame grabs from video). Sadly none of them really do justice to the sheer number of bikes present.

We made the BBC evening news!

They said there was about 1000 bikes.

Good day, really enjoyed it, nice to meet those who I met, didn't realise that Tgabber and Bendy were there as well.

Thanks, Katana, for ice cream and coffee, and to whoever it was (sorry - crap memory) who lent me the petrol money until I made it to a cash point.

Thumbs Up

Where did you stall? Outside Westminster?

We were there too and it was a fantastic day. Bit hard on the wrists with all the clutch control (doesnt mix well with carpel tunnel syndrome!) but it was worth all the pain and I hope it done some good. Saw bendy ride past us but sorry I didnt say hi as I couldnt find you after we got to westminster. Glad the weather held out.
Incredible sight seeing so many bikes go down the road (even though 2 car drivers tried to take us out!) but were promptly pulled my the policeman who was riding next to me Very Happy
The Kill spills team and the police done a fantastic job.

We thought we saw you arrive at the Ace but were never going to be able to find you. I don't suppose you were riding very near the back of the group on the way back were you? At times I was the very last bike!

I was on the green CB500, with yellow/black leathers, and the helmet in my avatar.

I was parallel to you for a while and was looking across to check you were a "chick", but to honest I was fairly convinced from riding behind you. Wink

Oh sorry, we just kind of sat besides our bikes the whole time. Neither of us went back to the Ace. Stopped off at BK for some grub!
