Fair enough... what, you've never heard of a 3-stroke?

I’m choosing to believe he was actually talking about the fabled six-stroke engine.

We gave it (or rather our contractor) gave it up as a bad job. It does work but the multi cylinder design was far too unreliable.

I've met many, many bullshitters & toppers over the years (Topper is a character from Dilbert, a pretty accurate representation of these people)

One bullshitter that sticks in my mind was a young guy at a place I used to work at ~20 years ago - we were in the canteen and he proudly told us all that he'd just picked up a Renault 5 GT Turbo - so naturally a couple of us were interested enough in going outside to look at it - what stood there was a completely standard looking Renault 5, most definitely not a turbo - we all stood there and looked at one another, slightly bemused, someone asked him to pop the bonnet, to which he willingly obliged - under the bonnet was a very ordinary non-turbocharged engine - someone said "Where's the turbo?" and the bloke pointed to the alternator and said "there"

No one called him out on it, and we quietly walked back inside. It was just such an odd thing to do.

^^ That's funny!

Similar(ish) I was talking to a woman one day and she told me her Corsa was fast "Cos it has a turbo". She had such a serious face when she said it. I laughed and told her almost every engine these days has a turbo - even the council grass cutters.
