Noticed a screw head in the back tyre of my 125 commuter tonight, tyres still inflated, its only done 800 miles so almost new
Anyone tried the plug type repairs on these?
I might not go for it on a faster bike maybe ,this spends most of its time between 20,40 mph,how safe are the plugs, can they be fitted in situ without taking the tyre off
Thanks
Matt

I've fitted mushroom plugs (no need to remove the tyre) to 600cc and 1000cc sportsbikes and then ridden them regardless.

I have fitted "mushrooms" to scooter tyres, which are an elegant solution but mean you have to take the tyre off, and bicycle repair patches to inner tubes, which are fine, but I'm sure someone will tell me how dangerous doing that is. Push-in-from-outside plugs are "supposed to be" temporary repairs.

I'd be inclined to tube it or fit a mushroom, probably the latter.

Is that the push-in/pull to emplace sort? I've never tried them, but they look OK & I'd forgotten about them...

Yes, they're the ones. Obviously Wink don't do this yourselves because you'll all die, but I didn't.

Ok great
Being lazy I didnt fancy taking the wheel off unless I had to
Its not actually losing any air yet as the screw head is right into the tread ,you never know ,it might only be a short screw and not gone right through!
I doubt that though with my luck
Cheers

You need to take it out and plug it. Easy enough but don't just ride it with the screw left in, that's asking for trouble.

TBH I've plugged with mushrooms and silly string. Both worked fine and both lasted the life of the tyre.

I've had much success with this kit before. Have used the string type before with varying levels of success.

Not sure if I've missed this but what's the bike? I'm assuming it doesn't have inner tubes?
