Wife has cb1000r with top box, uses it all year round. It's great fun and when ridden back to back with hornet 900, it felt like a BMX.

Scooter will be hard to beat in terms of practicality. And there are bikes now that look like dcooters, I saw in Honda

think I have decided on the MT09 but insurance is coming back not so great at around £800 cheapest with MCE then it shoots up to £1200 Rolling Eyes might have to settle for a CB650F for a few years

Going to throw it out there but nc750xa?

There was one on the lift when i went into the garage today, mechanic said it had 100k on it. 14 plate and to look at it you would think 20k.

With the weird tank storage its dull, but for a commuter probably ideal

I rode one and tbh it is a very good bike for commuting but zero power, coming from the CBR600 it was a bit depressing even for a commuter! wish it had a bit more power to it, but it may end up coming to the NC750, CB650 or CB500 for a year or so before I go for the MT
