As I said on Wednesday, there are so many parallels between Brexit and Scotxit.
Imagine if in 2014 Scotland had voted for independence.
This would be Val's "imaginery leave vs. real remain" Scotland voting for unicorns etc etc.
There is a hard border between Scotland and England. Therefore there would have to be some kind of 'backstop' agreement. It would be "bad for the economy", businesses would leave etc etc. Second referendum.
PLEASE vote for independence Scotland, I need cheering up.

Just watched Match of the Day. What is it with Al Beeb and their recent desperation to over represent women presenters and pundits?
Last nights show had a woman as both presenter and one of the two expert pundits. They also ticked the diversity box with 2 out of the 3 presenters being black.
These people are not picked for their knowledge of football, they're picked primarily for being females in a male dominated sport. What are they hoping to achieve with this virtue signalling? They even do a show just for women's football, so why the need to over represent in the men's football show too?

Whoever the useless woman pundit was, she just stringed together a series of football pundit cliches which added very little in the way of summarising. Once again, political correctness over quality and content.

Are you telling me she isn't a good, respected presenter who knows her subject? She may have had a steep learning curve, but the Beeb obviously thought she had what it takes when they employed her, and they were correct.
Do you have a problem also with Ian Wright, Garth Crooks etc appearing on MOTD?

When they employed her, she knew nothing about the subject she was picked to present. It's quite clear her gender was more important than her knowledge of the subject.

They are picked as "experts" to comment on the subject. The woman picked on the last MOTD was just reeling out chiched pundit comments which bared very little relevance to the games she was supposed to be commenting on. It just came across as fake and it was quite clear that she was chosen to tick gender boxes, rather than her knowledge of the male game.
Whilst I understand what the BBC are trying to do, they do it to such an extreme it becomes clearly obvious and cringe worthy.
Forcing these sort of inclusiveness in sport is a very dangerous path and will end up destroying female sports, not helping them. A perfect example is this, where blokes can now identify as a woman and piss the female sports...

It isn't all about how much football they have played, it is also about their ability to present. Gabby Logan never turned out for a 1st Division club back in the day, but she can present sports programmes. The likes of Phil Neville and Peter Beardsley did, and have you ever seen them on MOTD or as a World Cup presenter? Car crash television!!!
I think you are looking too hard for somebody to criticise. Either that or you didn't get enough cuddles as a child.

She has a long a background in men’s football, having grown up with a dad who played and managed all his life at club and international level. You tried to make out she didn’t.
It’s just another one of those lefty virtue signalling topics where you’ll follow your programming and deny its existence, much like you do with Pakistani Muslim culture and the vast over representation of racist child rapists.
