Yamaha Thundercat 600 1996 Forks On 2000 X reg

Hi all, binned my Thundercat 600 and bent the forks, will a 1996 model's Forks & yokes fit my 2000 X reg?

Don't really want to pay out 200 sheets on a 18 year old set of forks off eBay for a 2000.

A quick Google says my model was made the same from 1996-2004.
