Size: 100/80-17 Weight will be about 137Kg wet. Roads: Roundabouts and straights (e.g. Milton Keynes!), with some in-town & twisty rural.

Front tyres I've seen fitted on these bikes:

Michelin Pilot Street 4
Michelin Pilot Sporty 2
Continental Conti-Twist SM 1.

The rear on the one I want to change the front of is a Continental Conti-Twist 120/80-17.

I think OEM is Sava MC25 Bogart.

I've just bought a Conti Twist SM for the front of my Z250SL in the same size, it is 6 years old (that's why it was cheap) but I have to say it seems very hard, both in construction and compound. Reading reviews shows people don't think they're any good in the rain, but I'll find out for myself when I get it fitted. FWIW the OE tyres on the Z are Dunlop TT900s and the front has done 11.5K while being really quite good, I'd recommend them. The rear only managed 7K but while it lasted it too was perfectly fine.

I have since fitted a Mitas MC25 Bogart (Mitas bought Sava) to the rear and found it utterly shocking in the wet, I can spin it up on a shiny surface in 6th gear! How did you find the front?

I found Avon Streetrunners to be decently grippy for smaller bikes.

I've never ridden this one. Soon. The rear as I say is a Conti-Twist SM (not SM Sport), the front was the same. It needs a new front tyre. The previous owner drove it into something, apparently not tyre related, as Plod was proceeding in pursuit of someone else in the opposite direction, on the wrong side of the road, around a corner....

I actually meant how did you find the MC25 Bogart front - I have one ready to go but after experiencing the speedway-style shenanigans of the rear I simply don't dare have it fitted, it seems like suicide.

Sorry, never ridden with one on. They are OE though. Whatever Rieju sell on their spares site as a "front cover" goes for £122.36. I've asked them what it is...

Are they in fact all just as good as each other? I've been looking at so many tyres it's becoming quite confusing!

Metzeler Lasertecs are horrible, never known anyone like them. Michelin can't do wrong at the moment, lots of people like BT45s, and the only thing I've ever heard about the Avons is written further up in this thread!

Looks like a Michelin Pilot Street for now, and the next identical bike which I've got most of the parts for may get an Avon Streetrunner. Mr Blatter's kind offer is of interest, but probably not in the colder weather.
