Has anyone got one?

I've been trying to get one for my boat work. I fill all the crap in on line and that's it, nothing ever happens, no confirming/denying e-mail. Nothing at all.

Are they not doing them anymore or am I fcuking up somewhere?

Bugga. I've got a trade card, I'll have to nip in and see what's going on.

TBH I wonder how they keep going. I only go in there when I can't get what I need straight away at Screwfix or Toolstation and its always empty.

I have a trade card for Halfords and have started using it a lot for the basics like oil/fuel filters, brake pads and tools. With the discount, they are about the same price as Dingbro, Europarts etc.
IIRC, I applied for the card in-store. They asked for proof that I worked in the trade

DONT BUY THIS SET (assuming its the halfrauds 'advanced' - its shit.

Trust me I have it - none of the screwdriver attachments fit and half of the sockets and other attachments have gone rusty. The spanners are decent and the ratchets too but for that money id rather buy proper. Also nothing fits in the case properly once youve taken it out so everytime you close it the stuff goes everywhere.

Good for putting up shelves. BAD for automotive work where you will be getting the stuff oily/wet.

That's a lot of money for what you're getting.
But...

I have a set of their ratchet spanners and while they're not the best and do occasionally snuff it, they do honour the guarantee with no questions asked. Just make sure to get the receipt emailed.

FWIW I've abused the f**k out of my £70, 206 piece Lidl set and it's still going strong. With the lifetime guarantee thing (Snap-on do as well), you're more likely to lose something than wear it out IMO.

Rubbish.

I've had their 1/4 advanced socket set for years and launched numerous sockets and the ratchet at the garage wall a multitude of times. Still works perfectly.

The only thing that is shit is the case they come in.

would help if you read my post before quoting it

I've picked up the 200 pc kit that bumder is talking about, in black, so I know whether they're nicking my bits at work. Rolling Eyes

Quick noticeable niggle was the ratchets aren't as smooth as my Teng one. Or the cheap set I got from Amazon.

Only problem with these 200 piece kits, is that half of it is imperial, which is great if you have an old British or American car, therefore half the kit is useless to the average user.

Some of the stuff we deal with at work (not cars or bikes) that is British manufactured (and even some of the Jap standards) are imperial. So that's handy.

Speaking from experience, the one time you come across something imperial, you’re going to have a long day if your entire toolbox is metric.

I keep a full set of imperial sockets, spanners, Allen keys and socket hex bits because fuck winding out a four inch bolt with an adjustable spanner. That one time it happened.

I found a trade card and used it for years until I lost it, hopefully someone else found it and continued the legacy Thumbs Up

I would check to see if your work offer one of those "perks at work" type programs with giftcards, I can get 9% off via instant e-codes at Halfords, not as good as trade but it works on everything at least.

Are we talking about the time Arcane found an imperial bolt on his CBR? Laughing

I didn't know about that! Last imperial bolt I came across looked just like an M10 to me, until I tried to replace it with a new M10 and it snapped after two turns. Further inspection revealed it to be 3/8" Whitworth Brick Wall
