Bit of a bump - somehow we've missed Khaaaaan's statue bumping squad being set up:
https://www.london.gov.uk/press-releases/mayoral/mayor-announces-members-of-landmark-commission
Yup, a bunch of ultra-lefties going around telling ordinary folk that the hundreds of years old statues and road names they're surrounded by are contributing to the structural racism problems in this country. Best we get rid, eh?
One of the members has a bit of a history:
You Should Be Ashamed Queenie!
And created himself a bit more history this week when he went all Anti-Semitic on our asses
https://jewishnews.timesofisrael.com/london-mayors-appointee-resigns-over-antisemitism-claims/
However, that led me onto something all the more interesting.
Quote: | The posts, first uncovered by Shaun Bailey, the Conservative challenger in May’s election, is the latest controversy to hit the left-wing activist after he was also accused of posting anti-vaccine comments on social media. |
Well then, it's just sour grapes going through someone's back catalogue to get them cancelled isn't it? I mean, Labour wouldn't do that, would they?
So I had a look around. Shaun has a bit of form of poking outrage.....by.......telling the truth
Quote: | Giving evidence to a House of Commons select committee in 2011, Bailey said: “The key thing about poverty and poor people is that poverty is as much about mindset as it is about money. If you give poor people lots of money, they buy things, and not always what they need; they buy what they want.” |
Angela Raynor called it a disgusting attack on working class families - yeah, I'd guess he was probably talking about the Labour voting ones that don't work
So they needed more dirt, and what they came up with - well this is really rather special.
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/london-mayor-shaun-bailey-sadiq-khan-b1806850.html
In a report he wrote 16 years ago as a youth social worker, he said:
young girls in London offer sexual favours in return for drugs.
girls in the London area “let themselves be shared by the boys” in order to get drugs and attention and avoid being labelled “frigid”.
many “mistake sex for affection” and become pregnant in the hope of “unconditional love” from their baby but end up lonely and depressed as a result.
And in response:
Quote: | Labour MP Abena Oppong-Asare described the comments as “a disgrace”.
Depressingly, we’re getting used to hearing about the Tory candidate’s Trump-style ‘fake news’ and offensive views on diversity and women’s rights – but these latest comments are particularly disgusting and degrading and show that he simply does not share London’s values |
Trump style fake news
Yeah, sure, there were no social problems in London in the early 00's, there were no young girls doing drugs and shagging boys to get them, there were no teenage pregnancies, and there's no lasting legacy of broken families. It's all just a myth that a social worker made up 16 years ago because he knew he'd run for mayor one day
Sort of behaviour that makes the grooming gangs ignorance go from unbelievable to 'yeah, can believe that actually'. |

A very good description
If there is any city in this country that does not just belong to the residents and the twat they elect as mayor, it is the capital city, London. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

The electorate in London voted Khan in. Why would anyone treat them with respect? ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

What's Khaaaaan been up to since being re-elected then?
Solving Knife Crime? Spearheading economic recovery post Covid? No, not important.
What is more importanter is a year of fun for London!

Quote: | Within hours of his reelection being confirmed, London’s Labour Mayor Sadiq Khan was back doing what he does best, extolling the virtues of the city he represents. On the stage of Shakespeare’s Globe on the banks of the Thames, he officially signed up for his second term, then launched a huge new £6m campaign aimed at boosting London's culture, hospitality and retail economies. Let’s Do London harnesses the talents of major London arts and culture institutions with the mantra ‘jobs, jobs, jobs’. |
There's been some interesting output so far.
The London Underground Roundels are truly an iconic piece of design that are steeped in history and still stand up today - instantly recognisable, provoking images of London just to look at them.
Well the new ones, they go far beyond that. David Hockney has been paid a fortune to come up with these. Incredible:

Hockney, the celebrated Primary School 2 drawer and flamboyant coloureriner.
Those LU signs are fcuking shocking.
Going over the lines was aye frowned upon when I was at school.
It is a measure of skill, care, understanding and discipline to apply colours inside the lines. (Even getting the colour representation correct was of value too.)
The just paint of the now-a-days culture is illustrative of where things went off the rails. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |
