They miss things due to circumstances.

Bit of a bump - somehow we've missed Khaaaaan's statue bumping squad being set up:

https://www.london.gov.uk/press-releases/mayoral/mayor-announces-members-of-landmark-commission

Yup, a bunch of ultra-lefties going around telling ordinary folk that the hundreds of years old statues and road names they're surrounded by are contributing to the structural racism problems in this country. Best we get rid, eh?

One of the members has a bit of a history:

You Should Be Ashamed Queenie!

And created himself a bit more history this week when he went all Anti-Semitic on our asses Laughing

https://jewishnews.timesofisrael.com/london-mayors-appointee-resigns-over-antisemitism-claims/

However, that led me onto something all the more interesting.

Quote:
The posts, first uncovered by Shaun Bailey, the Conservative challenger in May’s election, is the latest controversy to hit the left-wing activist after he was also accused of posting anti-vaccine comments on social media.

Well then, it's just sour grapes going through someone's back catalogue to get them cancelled isn't it? I mean, Labour wouldn't do that, would they?

So I had a look around. Shaun has a bit of form of poking outrage.....by.......telling the truth Rolling Eyes

Quote:
Giving evidence to a House of Commons select committee in 2011, Bailey said: “The key thing about poverty and poor people is that poverty is as much about mindset as it is about money. If you give poor people lots of money, they buy things, and not always what they need; they buy what they want.”

Angela Raynor called it a disgusting attack on working class families - yeah, I'd guess he was probably talking about the Labour voting ones that don't work Rolling EyesLaughing

So they needed more dirt, and what they came up with - well this is really rather special.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/london-mayor-shaun-bailey-sadiq-khan-b1806850.html

In a report he wrote 16 years ago as a youth social worker, he said:
Arrow young girls in London offer sexual favours in return for drugs.
Arrow girls in the London area “let themselves be shared by the boys” in order to get drugs and attention and avoid being labelled “frigid”.
Arrow many “mistake sex for affection” and become pregnant in the hope of “unconditional love” from their baby but end up lonely and depressed as a result.

And in response:

Quote:
Labour MP Abena Oppong-Asare described the comments as “a disgrace”.

Depressingly, we’re getting used to hearing about the Tory candidate’s Trump-style ‘fake news’ and offensive views on diversity and women’s rights – but these latest comments are particularly disgusting and degrading and show that he simply does not share London’s values

Trump style fake news Laughing

Yeah, sure, there were no social problems in London in the early 00's, there were no young girls doing drugs and shagging boys to get them, there were no teenage pregnancies, and there's no lasting legacy of broken families. It's all just a myth that a social worker made up 16 years ago because he knew he'd run for mayor one day Rolling Eyes

Sort of behaviour that makes the grooming gangs ignorance go from unbelievable to 'yeah, can believe that actually'.

A very good description Thumbs Up

If there is any city in this country that does not just belong to the residents and the twat they elect as mayor, it is the capital city, London.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/mayor/london-mayor-laurence-fox-covid-jab-lockdown-sadiq-khan-b923802.html

Laurence Fox unleashing a few barrels. He's so straight talking that, unfortunately, he's not credible as a political force.

But I'm sharing this story not because of Lauro particularly - but because of Sadiq Khan. This is a beauty Laughing

Quote:
A spokeswoman for Mr Khan said: “Sadiq will not engage with politicians on the extreme far Right.”

Nice, that's about as useful as saying "hey guys, just to let you know I'm not pro-murder!" Clever way to slander an opponent without getting your ass sued into oblivion.

Laurence Fox isn't intending to win, he's intending to force the other candidates to treat the electorate with a little more respect.

Some people voted for him but quite a few voted Labour which is not quite the same thing. Yet more didn't vote for Goldsmith (derrrr... obs!) but remember it's a PR system so that's actually relevant.

London? Meh! Leamington Spa is where the real action is.

Weapons sweep carried out by anti-knife campaigners in Leamington parks finds items which could be used to cause harm
A hammer and a garden fork were among the items found during a weapons sweep carried out by anti-knife campaigners in Leamington parks.

Benjamin Spann, of the Change Your Life Put Down Your Knife campaign, and a small team used a metal detector to sweep the Eagle Recreation Ground and Fords Fields searching through bushes, hedgerows and other prime locations weapons could be concealed.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/croydon-stabbing-teenager-tai-jordan-o-donnell-b922995.html

19 year old lad stabbed to death - by, it would seem, a 26 year old bloke and a 22 year old girl Shocked Gone in at his legs. Let him bleed out. And he was stabbed.....in his own home! Sake Sad

Quote:
Tai’s mother Stacey, 35, said in a statement “my baby” Tai “deserves to be remembered for the amazing young man he was – not just another statistic”.

Mum is 35. He was 19. Christ.

So, proper nasty one, and what do we get in response? A vigil - how lovely

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/reece-young-killed-triple-stabbing-croydon-vigil-knife-victim-named-alpha-road-b927396.html

And another person stabbed to death, 2 others with stab wounds.

Not surprised at all.

How about Pimlico school.

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1417770/Pimlico-Academy-protest-racist-uniform-london-news-head-statement-union-flag-removed

I dont give a flying about the uniform rules but to have pupils saying it feels like their school has been colonised because the Union flag was put up is utterly disgusting. It shows how badly our immigration has been handled throughout the years.

What's Khaaaaan been up to since being re-elected then?

Solving Knife Crime? Spearheading economic recovery post Covid? No, not important.

What is more importanter is a year of fun for London!

Within hours of his reelection being confirmed, London’s Labour Mayor Sadiq Khan was back doing what he does best, extolling the virtues of the city he represents. On the stage of Shakespeare’s Globe on the banks of the Thames, he officially signed up for his second term, then launched a huge new £6m campaign aimed at boosting London's culture, hospitality and retail economies. Let’s Do London harnesses the talents of major London arts and culture institutions with the mantra ‘jobs, jobs, jobs’.

There's been some interesting output so far.

The London Underground Roundels are truly an iconic piece of design that are steeped in history and still stand up today - instantly recognisable, provoking images of London just to look at them.

Well the new ones, they go far beyond that. David Hockney has been paid a fortune to come up with these. Incredible:

Hockney, the celebrated Primary School 2 drawer and flamboyant coloureriner.

Those LU signs are fcuking shocking.

Going over the lines was aye frowned upon when I was at school.
It is a measure of skill, care, understanding and discipline to apply colours inside the lines. (Even getting the colour representation correct was of value too.)

The just paint of the now-a-days culture is illustrative of where things went off the rails.
