Morning everyone,

I've had an intermittent issue, first noticed post wash (a gentle one!) on my ER5 where the bottom half of the clocks are misting up. Now, they're lit by quite a few incandescent bulbs so the heat from these does eventually demist them but I think I'm just a bit concerned that the moisture might damage the electronics.

So, what's the best approach do we reckon;

1) Dismantle them (they've been apart previously for bulb replacements, although not by me), clean the gaskets/seals and reassemble carefully

2) Dismantle them, clean seals, spray electronics lightly with ACF50, reassemble

3) Dismantle them, clean seals, lightly apply clear silicone to mating surfaces and reassemble

Number 3 I think is the one I'm a bit nervous about as it'll make splitting the clocks for future bulb replacements difficult, but I want to start riding this bike in the rain (or rather, don't want to be limited by dry weather!) so I want to get something sorted.

I guess the 4th option is, leave it as it is and accept the misting up, but I'm just worried the internals will be damaged over time by the moisture (the bike tends to do relatively short journeys, circa 9 miles urban, so around 25 minutes of riding)

thanks

Is the unit even supposed to be sealed, it might just be a seasonal thing from high humidity rather than water getting in.
I would've thought the internal electric bits were no more vulnerable than other things on a bike like switchgear.
