A race can will by design reduce restriction not increase it. ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

I wouldn't say so, fact is the bikes already had its bollocks removed by putting the restrictor in and as such not running right.
The addition of the can wont cause any real problems.
As for the can choice... best thing is to go along to a meet and listen to a few bikes. Its all personal choice end of the day. ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

If you do, it will run like a dog. What you will be doing is adding a restriction to the air (gas) intake on the bike (the 33bhp part) and removing a restriction on the gas (air) output on the engine.
This will seriously unbalance the gas flow through the engine and you might even find that you will lose midrange power due to lack of back pressure from the exhaust.
Plus you are more likely to get pulled over by the rozzers.
IMO, don't do it. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

Sadie has a can on her Bandit (i think its race, Im pretty sure its a Micron) and it sounds real nice.
My cbr400 has a race can on it, and it runs fine, on standard jetting. Not all bikes will run like a bag o' bolts.
Speak to Sadie, ask if hers is a race can, and if it needed re-jetting
I recon my bike sounds like 20 times better. . I havent got any hassle from the Poilce, but I dont ride like a silly boy when i am in their presence. |

Mine isnt restriced. Sadies wont be either, but ive seen a few restricted 400s with race cans on. Im sure if you ask around here someone may even have that same situation going on.
I think LozVfr (YamsR6's mate) has a restricted Vfr400 with a race can on. Think. |
