Cleaning Dirty Chain Brush

Hi,

How do you clean your filthy chain brushes? What do you use and briefly, how do you apply it?

Various things will work: paraffin, brake cleaner, WD40, white spirit etc.
The last time I cleaned the chain I used paraffin on the chain and brush and then a bit of washing up liquid on the brush to get the worst of it off. It doesn't need to be spotless.

To be fair, I find if I'm liberal enough with the cleaning agent the brush is kept clean by itself as any gunk is broken down as you clean. I use paraffin as it's cheap and seems to be effective.
