I see HRH Hellcat has just replaced her cafeteir, we've been using one at work for a couple of weeks now.
So far we've tried a coffee from Tesco which wasn't bad and one I got from M&S which was decent.
It's a subjective topic I know but what do like in your squashers?

Coffee from Lidl, preferably the "XXL" beans they sell from time to time 'cos I can stick them through my Victorian coffee grinder, it makes the coffee taste better, I think they're £9/Kg, or the "Single Origin Roast & Ground Coffee" when they've got it which is now, about a couple of squiddicks for 225g. Whatever, it goes through my Bialetti stovetop espresso making thing, and it's OK. It doesn't really matter a lot IMO. I'd have a mug of it now but it's beer time instead.

chick at work has put me onto "coal town" coffee from west wales... the freshly ground and brewed batch she brought in for us the other day was frankly magnificent.

I was thinking about whizzing some beans in the nutri-bullet thing I have, it might not work but I'm gonna give it a whirl.
I like the coal town coffee idea but fack, I think it would have to be for special occasions.

I usually pick up a couple of bags of their coffee when I'm passing.

I'm currently at opposing ends, I've bought a five quid cafetiere from Wilko's, but I have PACT coffee to put into it. Fuckin boutique coffee place that I've been with for years now, on and off.

Thing is, I keep having to close down the PACT subscription cos I end up not using enough of it, and I get a cupboard full of Ridiculously Expensive Coffee that I never use and have to give away.

Am down to a respectable 4 half-opened packets now. Gave one to the cleaner for Christmas and got one to spare Laughing

Because I already opened them but then threw out the broken cafetiere. I'm not gonna chuck out coffee that's that expensive just because its "not fresh" (besides its got a ziplock)

Do keep up, Skuddoodles.
Anyway, saves me buying her a present, why go and buy her a box of Fox's biscuits or something when I have perfectly good premium coffee going begging in the cupboard. Not gonna buy her a bottle of prosecco, am I, LOL - these days unless I know someone well enough to know whether they drink or not, I tend to avoid buying grog for presents.

Used to enjoy M&S ground Espresso, but can't see it on their site. Dark chocolate, but not bitter.

Also enojoyed Sainsburys Fairtrade Colombian

Tried many one-offs for a while, basically in two groups:

Anything that said fruits, raisins, mango etc

Or Chocolate

EDIT:
Got my brother a gift sub from https://thecoffeefactory.co.uk/
Enjoyed it.

Deathwish coffee valhalla java is my go to for 'proper' coffee. I say proper I mean when I can be arsed to aeropress pre ground coffee rather than just grab the freeze dried instant stuff.

I picked up some beans today to see if I could whizz 'em up. Great success.
These beans are Taylor's Italian number 4.
Also bought some Taylor's Hot Lava Java ground.

In a blender? I seem to remember a coffee mill on my old mum's blender which had a single "blade" in it, which had square edges. A hammer mill, in other words. My old "300 rotations by hand to make the coffee taste better" Victorian thing is like a tiny gyratory crusher.

What did the "ground" coffee come out like?

The beans I blended came out superb, almost exactly the same as ground but slightly more course. Had I left it a bit longer, the blend would have been finer. You can see the blade I used in the above pic, it has a vortex effect.
Great taste.

I haven't had instant for a while now, I think the last time it was Carte Noir.
I'm not knocking it at all but for me, ground taste is boss.

I often drink cheap Lidlcoffee which is called Bellarom "rich roast" and is not too bad for "a drink", but used to have Nescafe Alta Rica which is good for "instant"; however, I agree about "real" coffee which I make in my stovetop Bialetti, a six-cup thing is enough for two reasonable mugs, and if you fill the funnel as you should it's (literally) an eye-opener. Smile

Many bangs in the distance now. St. Peter's therefore not coffee.

Beast stuff I've tried is branded by one of those poncy coffee shops, think it's Starbucks, they do it in Tesco, silver coloured packet. At the moment I'm on Tesco original as they were flogging it off at 92p a packet. TBH the difference isn't that noticeable.
