There's an advisory on the MOT in June saying "Rear shock absorber damping effect marginal".

Rear brake problems will be to do with corrosion, the fact it's never been cleaned but the main cause of the problem is that the owner doesn't know what's wrong with it or how to go about fixing a problem with the brake. Laughing

Assuming it works, it's looks alright for the money although the price is almost too cheap and makes me think that it's going to need some work doing soon. The ad was posted 10 days ago and I'd expect good deals to sell within a day or two. Confused

Loving those two bikes mate, anything different is good.

I have found a Lexmoto Scout for £350 that I'm going to see tomorrow. It's only about 30 miles away. The scooter 10 miles away that I had spotted has been sold.

How to ride it back from Bathgate to Haddington may be an issue without hitting a motorway, can you even ride a 50 on a dual carriageway? lol I want to save on having to get someone to collect it.

£230 or so for insurance that's not bad but the excess is £450 lol

I don't have any mates I just hate everyone, easier that way Laughing No one I know has a van or a big enough car. I'll get the local bike mechanic to pick it up.

Can you rent a van? It should be easy enough to get it in. Hertz 24/7 are pretty good.

Home.

It's done 2500 miles, had dodgy mechanicals on the carb causing the ped to cut out. WD40 sorted that.

I think it's not too bad for the money and Harvey loves it. Don't worry he has gear, albeit my gear!

Good.

It could do with a nice big topbox. There seems to be no storage on those things.

Oh. I had heard that the underseat storage is "limited" (won't fit a helmet in), and that there's little other storage. I will pass your helpful information on.

This is true, when it comes to girls though it is more important to be trendy than warm.

At least in my day we had a spell of bad fashion where we wore ankle warmers, not cold in those badboys.

I have great memories of 50ccs, one mate had an MT5 and a full bike license, the other a TS50ER with a full moped license (can you still do those..?) 4 of us even went camping on them, but generally did what yoofs did back in the day - driving round, going to the arcade and driving around again. Only down side was that 2 mopeds with no 'L' plates and both 2 up used to attract quite a bit of attention from the police...

The TS50 was later "derestricted" (exhaust, carb tweaks and a 73cc bore kit Mr. Green ) with huge rear shocks and massive rear tyre that only just cleared the chain, used to pull impressive wheelies.

So to all those who say "don't bother with a 50" I'd say, do because learning how to thrash the bits of a 50cc is great fun and it teaches you quite a lot about maintaining corner speed and momentum - and tjhe Mash looks awesome

A 125 taught me that, the difference was the only time I got tailgated was going up large hills when my speed would drop to 30 Thinking
