I haven't been to a new year's party since the millennium.
A lot of the time I don't even bother staying up to see the new year in.
Might sound a bit grumpy but I don't subscribe to all the new year new start new you bollox.

The miserable bastard in charge of my local didn’t advertise it other than the people booked in for the shit meal, then put a sign up saying “private function only”, before locking the main bar doors as soon as the last food booking turned up at 8.50pm.

New Year’s Resolution? New effing pub. Might have to go back to the old local which is nearer and not as rough anymore.

Used to have my own button on the till there which charged £6.80 for 4 shots of Vodka and a Diet Red Bull.

Had a nice day, Lovely dog walk, followed by a nap on the sofa. Then a roast beef dinner with all the usual trimmings.
This evening watched "The first purge" and we are now watching The final Resident evil movie. Few beers drunk, smoked a
few bowls of the herb, only gripe is it will be a night on the sofa because the dog has already heard fireworks (@7pm FFS!)
and hasn't took a leak since about 5pm because she won't go outside. I'm guessing she can smell the gunpowder. So I'll
sleep downstairs tonight so if she needs to go she can wake me. Might stick the PS4 on for a bit and see if my mate Dave is
online tonight for some GTA online. I've got a few hours left in me yet, had a good 3 hours kip after walkies. Happy New Year all!!

usually have our old uni friends over for heaps of food and drinks. we saw them all at the weekend so have taken the opportunity to have a quiet one this year and drink champagne in peace

it's been a pretty shit year among some fun bits which were all shit attempts to feel better but then things righted themselves in time for christmas and next year is looking bright

Not long since got back from Hogmanay in Edinburgh, the Johnnie Walker street party was awesome, highly recommend it if you've never done it. Definitely won't be the last time i spend the new year up here.
