Vat deals are emailed pretty often. A mate seems to get them at different times to me, so maybe there's always one on.

I read somewhere that the VAT free days were a regional thing? Up here I had nothing for 11 months and then two in the space of two months - quite random!

I'm wary of these sales offers. Nowadays I actively hunt around a few tool suppliers and not just when I need things. With one supplier (Northern Tools) I stumbled upon an offer where all of their SDS Max chisels/drills were a pound each. It wasn't listed as a sale as such, probably over ordered from a supplier or were getting new stuff in.
