Just picked up a 1972 lwb one of these, not been on the road for a few years ,complete and stock.
Thought it would be cool old bike and different to the other various old ,odd other bikes i own or have owned
Reviews look ok,me tioned it to a bike racer mechanic mate and he said they are slow nasty old dogs ,and I will hate it 😀

Not im not planning on bobbing ,chopping or hipstering it,might put some new tyres ,clean the rust oit the tank and clean it with a oily rag tbough .

Anyone ever owned one ?
Cheers

I have the R100RT from 83.

It definitely feels ancient but that doesn't mean it's bad. You just have to remember it's an old bike with skinny tyres that's meant to plod along on a tour rather than attacking the twisties.

I like the torque of the R100 engine but it's nothing thrilling. I'll be honest, I bought it because I love how they look. I have a track bike for thrills.

Check out the upgraded charging systems you can get online, allowing you to run a modern battery, heated grips, 12v socket etc.
