Tempted. but I had a 24l tank one before and it wouldn't run my impact wrench so not sure...

Been told need at least a 50l tank for air tools, however, old comp was very old, and tank did leak a bit so was almost always on when in use.

I have one. It's usable for tools but not so good with the small bore lines it comes with.

I've changed my fittings out and use 1/2" bore airlines but if I needed it every day I'd change if for a bigger unit.

Saying that, most power tools I use everyday are battery so for the odd time I need an air supply it's fine.

Not interested in this but it's reminded me of the thermal base layers that they did a few years ago. Does anyone know when they're due out again? I bought one set literally 3/4 years ago and they're fucking brilliant.

I got given one of those compressors last year.
It came with some brand new unopened spray painting kit, is it up to spray painting?

Sportsdirect Campri brand: 2 for £11-13 most of the time, but looks like the website is selling them off.

As in you have to buy 2 x tops for £12 or 2 x trousers for £12 (prices vary), and you can't buy a top and bottom for £12.

I rang Aldi the other week asking when they're next having a motorcycle specialbuy; they wouldn't (or couldn't) tell me exactly, but they did say all specialbuys work on either a 3, 6 or 12 month cycle and looking at the history, it's usually Feb or March, so I'd guess sometime in the next few months we'll see another Aldi motorcycle specialbuy.

Presumably merino wool?
Worth pointing out that Aldi flog this stuff at different times of the year under other guises too; eg for 'cycling' or 'skiing'. I have one of their merino 'golfing' tops - never played in my life but it's great for the motorbike.

It's the other way round, the XF/Euro fittings have a larger internal diameter and are a higher flow rated fitting. I've recently swapped all my old UK long style PCL fittings for XF.

It is probably the hoses and cheap fittings that are the weak link on the Aldi stuff.

p.s. both types are ¼" BSP threads, so interchangeable.

Main thing I use my similar sized stanley one for is car and bike tyre fitting. Also use it when doing the tyre pressures on multiple cars and bike at the same time. I've got a 20 metre rubber hose so use that.

It's also been good to get a feel for owning and maintaining a compressor and getting an idea of what I might want from a larger higher end one. Mine is a second hand shitter but still look after it with changing the oil, making sure to drain the tank, replaced fittings, repaired a gauge etc.

If it's anything like mine though, you'll probably want to use hearing protection. Belt driven ones are much quieter. I got these and while pricy it's likely one of the best things I've purchased and should have bought earlier.

Are there any soft covers for reducing the volume of these things?

Coincidentally Aldi had hearing protectors like that once or twice.

Not sure you understand what I meant. I upgraded the fixings and hoses from the supplied to a wider bore, which was just the standard available 1/4 BSP thread stuff from Toolstation and Screwfix.

I understand, but You said the Euro fittings are narrower. The bore of the Euro fittings are noticebly bigger, hence why they are also called Hi Flow fittings.
It is not that important unless you are using some seriously powerful tools. As mentioned previously, it is probably the puny hose that is the restriction on the cheap Aldi stuff.

Is the cleaner any good? Might be tempted by some to flush out the paraffin after a clean to help dry off the chain. Thumbs Up

Its an ok price but it will be almost identical to the other brands, which with basic tools are usually sub-100. This has none, so add 15 quid.

My only use is for occasional motorbike tires, I should have got the smaller 6L or vertical one from ebay.

Cordless lipo is much better for actual tools.
