Hydraulic clutch adjustment

Evening all

I've replaced my master cylinder assembly on my GSX650F 09 reg after a drop, causing the original to have the handle ripped away. The replacement part is OEM.

Today I planned to take a test ride to ensure everything was working as it should be, however I've now noticed the bite for the clutch is instant after starting to release the handle, once it's been fully pulled in.

How can I adjust where the biting point is on this model?

Are you certain all of the air is out of the system?
We fitted a hyd clutch to a Yamaha trail bike years ago. It was a pig to bleed. It would release after a while but engagement was harsh.
Bled it and bled it and bled it. Then it was fine.

Just sayin'.

Basically won't need adjusting, just bleeding properly.

That's a typical sign of air still in the system.

mostly it could be not blead properly (as previous posters say)
Most master cylinders have a grub screw so you can adjust the action of the lever.

...Or an adjuster on the lever itself. My YZF750 has a 1-4 disc to adjust sensitivity of the clutch lever.

Does sound like there's still air in it though. Sometimes bleeding from the bottom up works well. I use an old thumb pump oil can with a hose attached to the bleed nipple to push fluid up the system from bottom to top. A decent sized syringe would also do the trick.

Or completely fill the slave cylinder and pump out the piston as far as you dare, Allow for any "airated" fluid ( aero peppermint is my choice ) to de air, then gently push the clutch sl;ave cylinder back into the body, watching fluid spirt from the very small recouperating hole in the master cylinder res floor.

Gravity is a help for initial bleeding, then pumping just like for brakes.
