If you have proof of your old NC bonus I would phone round and see what can be offered to you rather than rely on comparison sites. Computers have no leeway built in (mind you neither have some insurance monkeys)
Just something else to think about. Local insurance brokers.
My house insurance (non traditional construction) was coming back £500/600 sort of figures from comparison sites. I Went into an insurance broker and he got it for me for half that with much better excesses and the like.
Maybe it would work with your bike insurance. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

But again, if your business were, for example, a travelling salesperson or something, you're not travelling to your business, but to others, and between businesses might qualify as 'business use'. That's what I've been told before. I've also been told that if I'm carrying company equipment between sites this qualifies as business use. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

Commuting means the same place of work every day (in insurer-speak). I had one insurer refuse to offer me commuting cover when I told them I work in construction but gave me 'business use 1' which is 'use in conjunction with your employer's business'. It's NOT the same as courier/delivery cover because it specifically excludes the carrying of goods in conjunction with the business so the loading is a lot less. When I asked for that instead of commuting it was 15 quid more, but that was quiet a few years ago.
BTW if you ever do under-declare the use for commuting etc be aware that -.in London at least - the cops run rush hour stop checks specifically to catch people out on bikes. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

On the subject of expiring NCB, does it expire from the date you got your bonus, or from when you last used it on a policy? Say if you had a policy then cancelled it without adding to your NCB, would that reset the 2 year thingy?
Probably not much help to the OP but Adrian Flux apparently except expired NCB, it might be worth seeing if any bike insurers do.
Edit: are bikesure part of AF? |
