Being a sailor and loving boats I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I won't put spoilers in but give it a try. It's a bit different to their normal programmes.

I liked it. There were some pretty deep moments and Clarkson made a point of pointing out the nasty side of Communism under Pol Pot and covered some of the war stories. He’s certainly no fan of socialism. Good scenery plus camerawork and they certainly pushed the boundaries of health and safety. Quite liked the Vietnam war era soundtrack, when he was bombing up the river in the copy of one of the original US marine boats.

My only criticism was the cringeworthy levels of crashing the boats, not only into each other, but into locals, jetty’s and buildings.

Saw it, enjoyed it. Wasn't their best, but wasn't their worst either. That Dune Buggy special a year or so ago was a bit boring. Don't read ahead if you want to avoid spoilers:

The fake peril at the end was a bit annoying though... I mean if you watch Miami Vice, Crockett takes his Scarab over to Cuba and the Bahamas all the time, and I'm sure that the PBR could handle a bit of ocean work. James's boat was the least seaworthy I think but it seemed to do OK Nevertheless. It arrived in a better condition than both the PBR and the Scarab.
