After my Spada cheap clobber start to fall apart last year I hunted around for a replacement. I settled on the Wolf Tour Tec jacket and trousers. Seemed like good quality stuff and wanted to opt for something a step up this time

9 months later the lining in the right pocket is starting to fall apart. I probably have only used them half a dozen times and am a fair weather rider so I don't even think they have seen a drop of rain. I only keep loose change and ear plugs in that pocket.

Fortunately still in warranty so will be sent back but looks like they are now discontinued so hopefully they will be sorted as I don't want to end up with just the jacket and not having matching trousers.

Need to vent as this is the second thing that have failed early this week and most of my time seems to be spent sending stuff back or trying to get replacements.

Rant over

So you've put a hole in the pocket? How's the kit holding up otherwise?

It does sound like a defect but I can't imagine returning an otherwise sound item months later for something you might put a few stitches in.

I have that jacket (bought mint from eBay for 30 quid), and Have to say it's good, the person I share the bike with uses it almost daily to commute and it has been through quite a lot of downpours over the last couple months. I used it last month when it was snowing (almost froze my feet and hands off) and it held up perfectly. I'd assume the trouser to be the same, so I'll agree it might be some lil defect you can stitch up.

I wanted to get the trousers too but no one's parting with theirs for cheap Laughing

Bit of an update. I was originally told by the supplier that they would offer a repair, exchange or refund. The manufacturer has admitted it was faulty. However the supplier informs me that the item is now discontinued and have no stock and have offered a refund. I asked for them to just return the faulty trousers however they say this isn’t possible. So I am stuck with the jacket and no matching trouser.

The supplier have suggested an RST trouser as a replacement as the zips are compatible but I’m a bit annoyed really as they were bought as a matching set.

I should have just put a few stitches in them myself. Although I shouldn’t need to.

Like you say, first world problems

Ask for a replacement matching jacket of equal or better quality?
