Posted: 16:09 - 18 Feb 2019 Post subject: Cheap Beam Torque Wrenches? |
|
|
Hi guys,
I'm going to need a torque wrench for my hub nut as the torque setting is 230nm on the car.
My current torque wrench only goes up to 210nm, and as this is likely to be one of the only jobs that I can think of that will require more than 210nm, then I'd ideally prefer not to spend £100 on a third torque wrench. That said, if that's what it needs, then I will get that.
The only beam torque wrenches I can find are of dubious brands and prices. Something like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/S-T300W-Torque-Wrench-Beam-Type-1-2-Square-Drive-0-300Nm-Tool-460mm-Length-/123021207620
Forgetting the usual issues with readability of beam torque wrenches, do you guys think I can rely on a torque wrench like this for my hub nut?
Otherwise I'll be looking at a new norbar. Likely the 300nm max ones.
Thanks guys. |
