My home town, Boston in Lincolnshire had the highest proportion of Leave voters Dance! Dance! Dance!

"In the 2011 census the Borough of Boston had a population of 64,600 with 15% of the population having been born outside of the UK and 11% having been born in EU accession countries (20012011) such as Poland and Lithuania."

What's the deal with Peterborough then? Never been, but I wasn't aware it had a particularly bad rep unlike many of the others in that list

Ahem. Another 166 miles to the Scottish border. That isn't the north - that's central England.

Pleased no places up here featured though I would drop Easington Colliery or Middlesborough in.

I remember going to Blackpool with a stag do (I think it was the stag do capital before Eastern Europe cheap flights changed that).

I thought it was an utter dump for a holiday town. You needed to be drunk to tolerate it.

I live not too far from Huddersfield and the town centre is an absolute f.ing dump, Halifax used to be bad but tbf the Piece Hall has made it quite a lot better.

The thing with Huddersfield, is that outside of the town centre there are some excellent rural biking roads.

At least 4 of them are areas now dominated by high levels of immigration and the child sex grooming gangs which come with that particular ethnicity.

I grew up in the second worst and have seen how its gone down the pan as the demographic changed.
I went to Peterborough once and was astounded to see signs were written in Polish first, then English.

I see a link, a link nobody is allowed to mention.

When they fist added a Polish aisle to my local Asda years ago, I can remember doing a double take at the big sign marking the aisle and thinking the same about how much shelf space was needed for furniture polish. Smile

Problem is Peterborough is a big place. Some area of it are locally known as black lands, you don't go there...

Others are really nice.

They've definitely focused on the poverty side of Peterborough.

Going back 25 years here but I used to work in London for a week and traveled by train Monday and Friday for the journey.
Peterborough even back then was an interesting place for the train to stop - you never knew what type of knacker would board and sit near you.
Might be a single mother screaming at her two well behaved children sat next to her, might be the hippy bloke stood in the aisle scratching his nuts all the way to London, might be the bladdered teenage lad lying in a doorway.
Such fun those days..

Loving that iLiveHere website!
