Hi guys.

We have a 2011 model (2016 real) CBR125R which has until now run perfectly.

The other day out neighbours caught some twat on a quad sniffing around and now we notice that the fuel filler cap "flap" is broken off and the chains have been rustled around as if he was checking the locks.
Now she's trying to get to work today and the PGM-FI light gives code 9 when the ignition is turned on.

The bike will start and idle reasonably until the choke starts to come off where the engine will start sounding horrible with "slapping" noises and low RPM. Though the bike does not actually cut out.
At any point if revs are applied it immediately dies.

Seems Honda don't list the fault codes in the manuals any more -_- but found online that code 9 may be an air-intake sensor fault but says the engine should still run normally, clearly this does not.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well I figured the books say it should still run even without that working properly. Run well enough to get to the garage etc...
But this is unrideable.

We found the issue anyhow, and the police are now involved as it was vandalism.

Not only was the fuel cap "flap" snapped off, but also a couple of sections of the wiring loom have been cut through as well as a couple of hoses (thankfully only the fuel and coolant drains.
But the wiring to the throttle body has been cut (including the air temp sensor which was generating the fault code), and what looks like the oil temp or pressure (maybe both?) sensor has been cut...

It looks stupid, no apparent attempt has been made to take the bike... just senseless vandalism?... Neighbours have it on CCTV though the police will likely do jack.

The next town over has a huge problem with a particular family. It's possible it's one of them as they were spotted around here and told to "go away please" last year and we didn't see them again.

The word on the street is one of the older ones got out of prison recently, funnily enough, it was for TWOC, bilking, offensive weapons, assault inc ABH and GBH and so on... proper pillar of the community type...
And so possibly why they are knocking about again, Going to be a shit summer I feel Middle Finger
