Hi, my son has just bought a Peugeot Speedfight 3 125cc from a dealer on eBay. It’s been recently MOTed and seems to work well, but I’d like someone to tell me if the lights are normal please.

When the lights are on lowbeam (dip), only one headlight comes on and when you switch to ‘dazzle’, the first one turns off and the other headlight comes on, so at no point do the front headlights come on together. Is this normal?

Any advice would be really helpful before we start fiddling around with the bulbs. Thank you 😊

Yep, doesnt sound wrong to me. There was a rule in proposed for a while that made it illegal to have two lights illuminated simultaneously on a bike, but I think it never came into law.

Scooters won't have the extra expense of having a dual filament bulb so it sounds like this is exactly how it should be. Although, I have to admit I'm not a Peugeot specific expert.

If you can see the back of the bulbs, 3 wires mean two filaments and if so you probably go one of each blown.

Further to the above, I doubt a 125 is likely to have the output to power multiple headlights simultaneously anyway so one on at a time seems likely?

That's great, you've helped no end. I'll pass all this onto my son and hopefully he'll join this forum too! Many many thanks to you all. x

That's because you arrived at the party already pissed with a ghetto blaster on your shoulder and sat down at the head of the table. Instead of saying hello to the host, putting your beer in the fridge and mingling for a while.
