I need a new screen for my PC. Needs to be around the 24" mark and freesync. I was thinking this IPS freesync panel from Argos. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8358280

Will be used for gaming, the specs look ok to me. My budget could go to £150 if needed. Will an IPS game OK? no ghosting? can't really find a suitable review. Freesync is a deal breaker.

I would buy either of these two, they are well regarded as decent gaming monitors at the price range.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071JH67KN/

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01H07FVPE

The BenQ is better, but costs more for a reason, but even the Iiyama is head and shoulders above the HP screen.

Response time is key here, the HP is 5ms, the two I linked are both 1ms.
It matters in gaming.

I cap all my games at 60fps, so I just run a cheaper 4K 28 inch, if your bigger I'd suggest that.

But the Zowie linked by pjay is fine.

I had to look 'freesync' up on Wikipedia.
"FreeSync is an adaptive synchronization technology for liquid-crystal displays that support a dynamic refresh rate, aimed at reducing tearing and stuttering caused by misalignment with content's frame rate."

Still no clearer Sad

In all Srsness, my monitor is about 10 years old now, and with the recent improvements in resolution I think my games would look so much better on an upgrade. I just want to avoid widescreens (i.e. prefer 'square' or nearly square monitors).

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm going to stump up the extra for the Ben Q and get that ordered before the end of the month.

Everything is made for wide these days, I can't go back. I run 2 24s at work and 2 28s at home and its just... heaven.

I've got 2 x 24's at work as well, but 16:10 instead of 16:9, surprising how much more room it gives in documentation/code etc.

28's at home as well but usual 16:9 Thumbs Up
