So HMRC are now forcing all VAT registered businesses to submit returns using MTD compatible software from today.

Just had a quick look at Sage and they want £300 a year subscription for this "add on" module. Cheers HMRC. What a fecking rip off! A job which takes 2 minutes once to four times a year and Sage thinks that justifies up to £150 a minute, purely because HMRC have made this mandatory. I wonder if they have shares in Sage Ireland?

Christ on a stick! that Freeagent is £300 a year + for a limited Co, for something I'd need to use for 2 minutes 4 times a year.

There's an awful lot of software firms milking the fact that the government have made this mandatory. I can't help but feel the government are on the take somehow with this. I wonder if they sell licences to the software vendors to be approved?

More fecking indirect taxes on those who dare to work for a living.
