Sweden? I find that surprising given it's the rape capital of the world.

Guess the rapists' happiness was included in the stats too then. <shrug>

Statistically, 9 out of 10 people enjoy gang rape.

Isn't that just a list of the countries the UK is currently trying to negotiate new trade deals with? Wink

Just realised I've also worked for about 3 weeks in Helsinki.

Tbf it was okay, the food strangely familiar to the UK and lots of UK ales, even on cask. I was shocked by this.

Went sometime in December I think and it was Finland's national day, massive night out, taxis not to be found for hours.

Seem to remember going to the ice hockey too, Helsinki Jokerat or something like that.

Saying that I don't think of it as the happiest place I've ever been to. That would probably be one of the Greek Islands or Cyprus.

Happiness isn't going to be that easily measured after just a short trip. I'm pretty sure the report will use measures to do with lifestyle, free time, disposable income, personal space, public health etc.

Not exactly the kind of stuff you can garner from a quick visit.

(This is in response to those who've said stuff like, "I was in Finland for a weekend and it was a bit meh")

It's the /reported/ rape capital of the world. Maybe lots of other countries have unreported crimes?

Of course they do. If you wanted someone popped off in rural Bonny (Nigeria) when I was there, it was a few hundred thousand Nira to the local bad guys and it would be done with police turning a blind eye. If you wanted a slave girl you could buy one. Anyone with an income of the equivalent of £1000 a month could live like a king.

I doubt if any of that is factored in to their algorithm which shows what crap anything like this is.

One might argue that countries where women feel safe and secure are more likely to result in rapes being reported which would make the stats look worse for those countries.

I did read recently that Denmark has a poor record of handling rape reports with the police regularly victim blaming and similar... Which does surprise me a lot, as Denmark is as close to a social utopia as you might get on planet earth in 2019.

But they shouldn't have to, white guilt should mean they get all the money they want from Britain, cos we is the worst and did naughty things back when George was king.

Yay, lets get a new George on the throne and go back to being bastards. Dance!

He wound me up again last night. Dunno why i was just thinking about it.

It's fine for him to be SJW whining with his nice warm bed and full belly.

If I was starving or seriously ill, the colour of skin of the person helping me out would be the LAST thing on my mind.

fucking hypocrite. Mad Evil or Very Mad

It is strange how the top countries are Scandinavian.

Long hours of darkness during winter.

Alcohol very expensive.

Maybe that's the reason.

Would be interesting to see if this was based on statistics, or actual interviews with a large number of people over a very long time. Happiness cannot be assumed by things like job prospects, wealth etc. Some people without a pot to piss in are extremely happy, whilst others may be rich, have everything they want and are miserable.

Fantastic public services, better public health and fitness, great salaries, free university education, low population... I could go on. The Alcohol thing is not too much of an issue really. Norway has a bank account with money in it for every man, woman and child in the country because of their oil money. It's supposed to be a hedge against when the oil runs out.
