Bitter sweet day yesterday. said goodbye to the Mash 400, and said hello to my Royal Enfield Interceptor. So, it's booked in next Friday for ut's first service.. Once home, I fitted the rear rack I got from Zana, and fitted a top box, well, need something to bring the chips home from Codsall chippy in !😂 I've still got the bash plate to fit, might wait until after the first service for that.

It looks like a handsome bike.
It’ll be interesting to to see how it stacks up in real life terms against the opposition/in the real world.

The background in each of your pictures is awful. I'm trying to enjoy what is a lovely looking bike while fighting the urge to shut my eyes.
Please take some nice pictures when you're out having fun with it.
Thank you.

Nice - well jelly Smile

A lot of the guys in the local club have bought one, I'm in danger of being the only one left on a single Smile

I'd like one, and they are a decentish price, but finances mean I'm going to have to wait a few years for the second hand market to appear.

Nice looking bike. I'm still tempted by the Himalayan. Looking forward to the rumoured larger capacity one appearing.

If they go half a well as they look, you should have a nice wee bike there.

Not sure how well the top-box goes with it, I'd be keeping my eye out for a an old Rickman jobby.

The top box lean is at a very exagerated angle there, doesn't look too bad side on. It's easily removable as well

Never wanted a W650 when they were new, let alone a 2nd hand one, that has to be a minimum of 13 years old !!

I think that looks smashing (although I agree with Stink, Rickman box, or Craven FTW) and it does seem GVW compared to a Bonny.

If you don't mind me asking, assuming you chopped it in, what did you get for the MASH?

No, I don't mind you asking, £1800 trade in for the Mash, so, it lost about 1/2 it's value in just under 4 years, quite pleased with that really. I know what you're saying about the top box, I may look at a 'vintage' style 1 in the future.

Try changing a bikes engine capacity to a non-round number.

Fwiw I sold mine for less than two and a half grand a couple of years ago.

I was being facetious but you seem to have taken a tiny bit of umbrage. Don't.

Beneath the facetiousness was some curiosity. What does the Interceptor have that a W650 doesn't? Your point about age doesn't hold much water for me because so many of the Kawasakis were not ridden, and when they were, it was almost always with a lot of mechanical sympathy, sfaict. They're a bike to pamper and that's what they got.

Unless you have some sort of brand loyalty to Royal Enfield, for whatever reason. In which case, fine. I hope you enjoy your new purchase.

Not taken umbridge, why did I pick the bike, well, ever since I sat on 1 at the NEC in 2017 I was hooked, then, when I took it for a test ride, sucha lovely bike to ride. If it wasn't for y bad experience with Triumph inthe past, I may have considered a Bonneville, however, I do think, aside from the quality issues I had, they are a tad over priced.

Not so much brand loyalty, even if I did own a Bullet for over 6 years, I buy & ride the bikes I like, irrespective of manufacturer, or even country of manufacture, which, most of the time works out well.

No real difference to when I bought my Mash 400, I wasn't particularly taken by the Yamaha SR400, which was a alternative.
