Now that is worth protesting against.

Same thread in General bike chat.

What I wrote there...

I read somewhere the plan was that once people got used to the technology they would get rid of the manual over ride and have it active all the time.

Also with manufacturers like Volvo limiting all their cars to 112mph the writing is on the wall for total big brother control of our driving habits.

https://uk.reuters.com/article/us-autoshow-geneva-volvocars/volvo-to-limit-car-speeds-in-bid-for-zero-deaths-idUKKCN1QL11C

I really don't think this bodes well for motorcycling. I foresee BHP limits at the very least if not an aim towards a total ban of bikes. sadly, even if we leave the EU it is already stated we will implement the same rules as they do.

Bye bye riding and driving for enjoyment. Evil or Very Mad

You would need an easy way to bypass and then re engage that isn't obvious because when it's due for an MOT as you can bet your last penny it will be checked. Bit like any mod on a DPF is illegal.

Didn't know Muslims were against petrol?

This may be coming out of the EU, and D(a)FT are going to be happy to play it as such, but, I'd put money on the idea originating from the UK !! Compared to the EU, some of our road regulations are quite draconian...

I think we should do it in a different way..

All vehicles should be limited to 70 mph regardless. Don't physically allow them to go faster - literally engines rev out at 70 mph.
If we're being forced to take on leccy cars then ALL government should set an example and be driven around in leccy cars limited to 70 mph.
I also think that government travel too much. We all know the damage done by engines and so all government officials should have massive restrictions placed on their travel. Just look at Mays pointless multiple trips to the EU of late. She can face time or whatever like the rest of us do.
Let's go further: The above rules apply to all military vehicles including tanks. Make tanks electric.

This government are being ran by think tanks - who the f*ck are those people who truly control the country?
This country needs a f*cking good shake down. I'll make the guillotines.

We won't be using internal combustion engines for private transport by 2040 regardless of the Muslim invasion and impending Sharia law.

I didn't realise that Muslims were effecting where and when I can enjoy my tipple of gin and rose-water. Do elucidate, Mdma old chap.....

There will be a huge drop in income from speeding fines, but can be recovered from more tax on fuel because that's green. Thumbs Up

Criticising a culture which practices cutting off clitorises, raping children, intolerance, homophobia and sexism is now a hate speech offence or labelled Islamophobia. I wonder if criticising Nazi's is a phobia too?

Fuck sake dude, its a thread about cars, its got fuck all to do with religion.

Give it a rest, you're like a stuck record.

Go to Luton and look for a pub still open anywhere within a couple of miles of the ground. That's a good example of Muslims making areas alcohol free by force and bullying.

Been though that before, the pubs in Luton have shutdown, because they are shit and they served shit beer.

Here in the west midlands, plenty of pubs still around, and opening, including a good selection of micro pubs.

Petrol head, are you sure you've spelt petrol correctly

This thread has gone in a strange direction.

What mandatory speed limiters have to do with Muslims is a mystery to me.

That's funny but it still needs a punchline. Mr. Green

It takes a brilliant mind to link the two. I tip my hat to you, sir.

We won't be in the EU by then, it'll be down to the UK gov to choose to implement it or not.

Only Donk can manoeuvre a thread about vehicle regulations into a Muslim bash. It's like Godwin's Law 2.0.

The UK gov has said they'll implement it regardless of the outcome of Brexit.

A bit like all the shitty restriction laws on bikes. UK gov wanted it, got it to come back from the EU, thereby leaving it with clean hands.
