Route planning and navigation

Hi all, been searching for a while for an app, or pair of apps where you can plan a route using pin points and then transfer this into a navigation app. What do you use? I'm on android, and don't want the cost/hassle of a sat nav. Been using Google maps the past few years but not having a feature to plan/save routes is really frustrating.

Any pointers much appreciated 👍🏻

You can plan/save routes on the desktop version which will sync with your phone if signed in.

Waze/copilot seem like popular alternatives, although I'm sure someone will be along in a moment to tell you to buy a proper satnav

here maps does both... free downloadable offline maps for abroad too to save on data

Try all your phone navigations you can manage... various apps and "waterproof" covers.. trying to navigate with an earpiece and phone in your pocket with the signal dropping in and out and batteries running out .. .. the free ones are crap and just about work .. the paid for are expensive with added features makin them somewhat better ...until the inability to store routes finally drives you to getting lost round the bend..

then when your sick of them you can try a Garmin dedicated motorcycle sat-nav .. that does exactly what it says on the tin .. Basecamp will store all your routes and places of interest along with exactly where you have been ..

Google Maps will plan/save routes. You can also share them easily if you are doing a group ride. It's free* and works. I have an account just for this purpose.

*as with all free stuff on the internet, you are the product. Ads, tracking etc.
