I have a free one year RAC recovery as part of the purchase of the new Tracer 700, but also have a free recovery as part of my insurance.
I had a 3 bike fully comp cover with ERS and the breakdown and recovery insurance is part of the price, but recovery is limited to taking the bike to the nearest repairer (within 20 miles) and not back home, so always best to read small print.
I also have RAC cover for the car, never needed to use it on the bike, but once hit a deer at speed in the car (SAAB) and the RAC were great, got me to insurance approved repairer who then gave me courtesy car, again with a alternator failure, dropped me at work, took the car to a SAAB dealer, came and picked me up after work and took me round to collect the car, brilliant service.
I think that you have done the right thing by going with a national recovery with the AA, the RAC and AA have vans everywhere and in my limited experience don't quibble. ____________________ Alcohol doesn't solve problems, but neither does milk |
