normal to love/hate riding?

Some days i cant wait to get out there, others (even in perfect riding conditions) i just cant be arsed to unlock the garage and get it out just to ride to no where and back.

Any other non commuters ever do this?

Yes. Yesterday, the day before and the day before that. Lack of destination or purpose for journey is the issue.
Plus in my case it's quite a faff to get the bike out.

I often do have a lack of enthusiasm to ride - but as soon as I'm on the bike, the enjoyment is right there. That's something the ninja does really well. You think meh can't be arsed. But you persevere and the bike has easily enough enthusiasm for the both of you.

Then again, there are some days when I'm raring to go and I get out there and it all seems a bit pants. Those are probably 5% of the total.

The ninja has been great for this - it honestly seems to love a blast. More like a decent pony than thousands of pieces of metal fastened together.

I usually have enthusiasm for getting out, even when the weather sucks. That's after 5 years of full time commuting too. Sometimes don't have the enthusiasm, but one of my other lesser ridden bikes usually cures that. If there's a hint of sun, especially at this time of the year then I'm usually gagging to get out.

There are days when I can't be arsed but those are the minority. I HATE when something stops me from getting out when I want to. My reasons for riding are pretty varied though, it's not just about the rush, and often ties in with other interests.

I've never really had a big problem with traffic in the car... I usually have the attitude of turn up the tunez and chill out. I don't have to get anywhere at any particular time...

On the bike though a line of traffic is an opportunity to fart in the general direction of the muggles as you pass them by.

I sometimes get bored of my commute and prefer to use the car to chill and listen to my music, but then a weekend ago I managed to find time to go for a ride in the countryside.
It was completely different and felt like I was riding a different bike! It made me realise my commute has no twisting corners, countryside views, thrills of single lane overtaking and learning to push my bike more... I need a new commute!

Crikey....it’s not just me. I have that feeling too, I’ve got two brilliant bikes, great condition and I think oooh I’ll go out for a quick spin......then get focused on what I have to change and then think ...sod it Ill do it another day...wtf!
I put it down to too much going on, loads of things to do etc

I was filtering through mad traffic jam the other day, pulled up next to a lambagini admired it so much I ride around the block and come back and had another look at it. Joke being it would of taken the lambo a hour to do the same journey it took me 5 minutes.. yeah some times it’s a chore getting the bike out in wind and rain but when my mates are complaining about the traffic jams, I just smile and say don’t know what your talking about 😀
