Looking a putting together a small 'OO' setup... If the cat doesn't try and eat it!

there is quite a long thread about model railways somewhere in the depths of BCF, probably in general chat

I had one, but I gave it to my dad, I had an N gauge, it gets really messy cos there are so many variants of gauges

he had OO, N and Z, but has finally settled on N and it's all computer controlled with little doodahs that control the speeds in the trains and stuff, rather than the power through the track, quite cool really

I prefer OO cos it is less fiddly

My dad is just getting back into it, oddly I'm taking him to a train fair thing on Saturday in Beckenham.

He has OO, so might find a deal or two for him there. I would like to, but my time is eaten up in games.

If your dad's just getting back into it after a bit of a while, best take his heart medication with him, if he has any, prices have increased massively over the last 5-7 years !!

My dad has certainly noticed that!

Used to buy a couple of Loco's a year. Now he's lucky if he buys one a year!

I'm wondering if N gauge is going to be too small for my eyesight. But it will certainly give me more space for an interactive layout.

It won't be his money Laughing I'm aware they are a lot more costly than before, but a motor is a motor inside them and its just all decor.

The track though, that shit is just... why!? Its such basic shit but they charge a shed load. Aliexpress sells a fair bit of the DIY stuff but no track Laughing

Old Thread Alert!
