Probably better not to have one when you die; they might not be able to close the coffin lid.

You flatter me sir.

Not at all, thing that worries me most on a bike is animals rather than careless drivers. Being hit by a fat pheasant at 60 was like getting hit with a bag of sand or taking a really heavy punch.

At 120 I get twitchy when I see one, hitting deer or wild boar would be worse.

Dying itself I've always wondered what it will feel like, I've accepted I'll die at some point, no one depends on me, when it happens it happens.

Also as others have said, a lot of incidents can be avoided if the rider anticipated what was going to happen, obviously not always possible but vehicles are always easier to judge than animals.

Dying is painful unless it's instant. The only time it doesn't hurt (slow death) is because they have you off your nuts on medication.

Cruisers - a slow painful death riding one!

Riding reminds me that a very primal part of me is very fond of staying alive. This is incredibly good for me.

Do I worry about doing something stupid on the bike? No. But pro-active with post-test training.

I keep having dreams about crashing a VW golf into a tree though. That's a bit disturbing. I've never owned a golf and I scrapped my polo a few months ago.

I hit a large bird (not exactly sure what type) at about 50 in a bus once and it caused about 3k damage. That would sure make a mess of your face. When I went to see the manager to 'review' the incident, he told me that looking at pictures of the damage it caused, he genuinely feared I'd hit a person.

Do I worry about dying? I don't ride any more but not for this reason. It's mostly cos I need a car due to ferrying the dog/kids around. Can't afford two vehicles really.

Did I worry about dying? Not really. You make your own luck. My wife used to fret every time I went out, and to be fair still does when I go out on my pedal bike (sorry). A friend of hers at 6th form got ploughed off his 'ped by a lorry on an A road, and he was pretty much identified by DNA so I kind of see where her concern came from.

After reading of another two fatal collisions involving motorcycles in my local area today alone, i have to admit its making my arse twitch about getting on a bike with so many muppets around in cages?

Is it something that would make you reconsider your life with a bike?
Having watched a few people go in slower nastier ways this last few years, I am not so sure it's such a bad way to go.

Also since Lady Di got everyone openly wailing in the streets, rubbing ash on themselves and rending their clothes, I reckon if I get wiped out under a bus I will get more flowers blocking the footpath nearby than I ever would in a proper grave, all paid for by complete strangers.

I spend a bit of my time looking at youtube fails on bikes. It give me a sense of reality and puts my feet back on the ground when I see some of these nasty accidents.

Thing is though, I reckon most of these accidents could have been avoided by the biker if they A. slowed down and B. didn't drop their obs guard down.

It's often someone else's fault. The most common one seems to be 'I didn't see you'.

I ride like everybody hasn't seen me. Every possible junction where someone 'might' pull out, I tend to already have an escape route. That escape route is often simply slowing down so I can stop if I need to.

Not to say I don't get caught out now and again.

Went like this.. 43 years old(2013) decided to do CBT to get a 125 for new job. Bought 2011 YBR, loved it for three months then hated it because it was too god damn slow. Did DAS 4 months later then bought RF600 Loved it, sold it bought Bandit 1200(K3). EFFIN lOVED IT. Wanted something a bit more sporty so got Triumph Sprint ST 955i (53). Not sporty enough so now on my GSXR 1000 K3 and absolutely love it. 1 year down the line, nearly died way too many times on this bike. Sold it. Had a 6 month break. Missed biking so now, Aug 2019 have a 1999 ZX9r. What a beauty she is too.

Generally, absolutely not, although I remember one ride from about 3/4 years ago. I was planning on a ride out with a mate the next day and I’m not sure if I had a bad dream about it but in the morning something didn’t feel right. As it turns out everything was fine but I was a little apprehensive throughout, knocked it off 10% across the board, which on a 125 is quite a lot :p

Not had that feeling since but I do remember how I felt that day; really weird

No.

I'll get a bit nervous if I have a complete cockwomble up my chuff, passing dnagerously, raging or whatever, but worried about getting splattered? No. If I do, it'll be beyond anything I can control.

As with all things in life, if it is beyond my ability to influence and I can't do anything about it, whatever it happens to be, I don't worry about it.

For some reason I read that in a sexual manner. It almost works too.

I dont worry because I know about 80% of the situation I can control myself.
I also slow down more than necessary when approaching junctions with what looks like an old Mondeo looking to pull out.

I'd rather die doing what I love than live to be 100 taking absolutely zero risks
