This is FATDW global warming but I did notice some half decent totty dancing on top of stuff bra-less and looking real Hippie-friendly.
I am considering joining the protest now.
Purely out of concern for species extinction.
I could be a small part in a brief breeding campaign with some of those female specimens.

I seem to recall that Icelandic volcano spewing out more co2 in a week than mankind had since the industrial revolution.

What is the government doing about banning volcanoes?

The UK is already doing quite a lot regarding energy efficiency. Fuel use is in decline generally - improved fuel economy on vehicles, vastly improved insulation on houses, significant regulation on businesses.
Third world countries..... not so much.

This whole thing is often based on bad science , designed to meet an egenda. Even the IPCC have decided extreme weather events are not getting more common.

The badge "global warming" was scrapped when it was proved the world is not warming, so the climate militants just re-branded it "Climate Change", meaning they were covered unless the weather stayed perfectly the same year after year.

Whilst there needs to be some concern, I suspect a lot of it is political bullshit to control the masses in a world where wealth and power is based around control and taxation of energy and fossil fuels.

Well, of all the people to listen to about climate I think I would trust David Attenborough over most and he seems to think it's a real problem.

And lets be honest, he hasn't really got any reason to bullshit. He'll be long gone before anything major occurs.

He was one of the first 'celebrities' to make a coherent argument for the planet's wildlife.
And totally non-profit too.

Or "fact" as it's often known wee man. You should try it occasionally, rather than posting blind links to subjects the grown ups have already talked about.

Yeah, he does it for free...

He may be 90 years old but Sir David Attenborough is showing little signs of slowing down anytime soon after declaring pre-tax earnings of £1.1million.

The wildlife presenter raked in the cash through his work with broadcasters including the BBC and Sky.

not arsed about global warming.

however animal species on the other hand....

over fishing, deforestation,

can the world just breed at 0.9 per person (average) and control the population crisis first?>

surely the quickest and best way to reduce carbon footprint is LESS PEOPLE

The best way to achieve less people is to ignore all environmentalists and work to achieve a global environmental 'catastrophe'. Lots of people die, pollution by humans massively reduces, climate naturally resets itself Thumbs Up

The planet's previous extinction events kind of put things in perspective for me.
What's the point in humans working to achieve a 'clean' planet, when at some point (could be tomorrow) there will another major meteor strike, or a massive volcanic event that will just kill off most everything anyway?
At least through pollution we'll be in charge of our own destiny, assuming we get there first.

Also, with the colossal number of star systems in the universe, and the number of exoplanets already discovered, when our discovery of such is still in its infancy, it's highly likely there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, probably a lot of it. Maybe self-engineered extinction is a natural conclusion for intelligent life forms, paradoxical as it may seem to us.

And...are there not bacteria that thrive on plastic waste?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ideonella_sakaiensis

If we remove all of it, those bacteria will be endangered, and who knows what marvellous future life forms it may evolve into if it survives and thrives?

Try not to think about other intelligent lifeforms on far-off galaxies.

They would only need one mdp7.2 among their kind to negate any accrued intelligence.

Governments (of any colour) won't make any real efforts on solar/naturally-powered energy until they've thoroughly worked out how to tax the fuck out of us for it.

Too many fingers in the pie.

If you believe in climate change think its a huge concern then there's a simple answer: Go nuclear. Problem solved!

Then you have the ones who aren't happy with that. These ones are living a sort of fantasy greeny bubble where they get to protest about "the climate", keep all of their fancy gadgets cars the like, and oppose all credible options for power generation. The CO2 for them isn't really the issue.
