Using remembrance day to score political points is shameful. Climate change or otherwise.

XR did it because they knew it would attract attention. And the 'little ritual' bloke was just using it to sperg on about how the Government have failed in their climate change targets.

Remembrance day should be about honouring the fallen and nothing else.

Erm, using war and jingoism and mostest rememberingest virtue signalling happens all the time for scoring political points.

Remembrance Day 2018:

Trouser/boot not done properly with twisties looks like twat

Trousers not ironed, looks like a twat

Combat jacket not ironed, looks like a twat

Combat jacket collar zipped all way up, looks like a twat

Green/58 patt belt missing, looks like a twat

Red bit of poppy should be behind the cap badge and not worn entire hanging off a button loop, looks like a twat

Zips and strings on zipped pockets are hanging out, should be under the folds and ironed down, looks like a twat

TRF missing from combat jacket, looks like a crow

Beret is shaped nicely though.

Other than his "uniform" being in total rag order and making me want to bleach my eyes, I actually take no offence to his actions, compared to the genuinely offensive shite people have done to memorials recently this is a non destructive, peaceful and ballsy move. I don't agree with it but I don't find my blood boiling.

Wonder if he banged the Nurse afterwards?

Erm doesn't make it right though does it?

Corbyn's hardly an ideal example either. Can't exactly imagine him paying respect to those who died fighting the IRA.

A Private in the army Thinking My dad managed to get to Lance Corporal and he (by his own admission) did the bare minimum to get by Smile Anyhoo, you'd want at least a Colonel so lend some credibility, officer class and all that. Then again...

Conventional approaches of voting, lobbying, petitions and protest have failed because powerful political and economic interests prevent change. Our strategy is therefore one of non-violent, disruptive civil disobedience – a rebellion.

Oh well, credibility isn't XR's thing just FUD and virtue signalling and of course Communism:

A while back I posted a bit about Greta "leaking" a XR document. I don't recall why it was on the Anti-SJW thread Shifty

Anyhoo, an update:

Disha Ravi: India activist arrest decried as 'attack on democracy'

The article mentions the Greta document but replaces the XR link with faux-outrage from Twitter. Oh? an actor who has no understanding of the situation has commented?! That's news! Don't mention the murderous intentions of the XR Marxists Rolling Eyes

Know your enemy.

tl;dw It all starts very plausible - ice caps melting, sea level rising* - "it is known" as they say. It's all painted as a global catastrophe. Personally I don't agree with that assessment but whatever.

Anyhoo, two definitive things came out. That the fella's a deluded lunatic who believes we already have open borders and therefore all the displaced people from the Third World who can't grow food will just be taken in, no questions asked, by Europe and not left to starve as will be the reality.

Secondly XR have only one solution to Climate Catastrophe: citizens' assemblies (or Communism as it used to be known.) Wouldn't be drawn on the nuclear question, never even mentioned population control Sad

*I've worked out my house is safe up to an 8 metre rise. If all the ice in the world melted we'd be looking at >100 metres. London under the sea but I'll have moved back to Cornwall by then where there's a bit of altitude.

Like most radical lefties, they're totally clueless. Marxism is just the road map that socialists follow to get to the communist utopia. They like to dress it up under other titles, but the core ideas are always the same - public ownership of manufacturing and all resources, level down the field for everyone in the name of equality when they just mean equity, blah blah, on and on, yawn.

Look you dippy lefties, IT DOESN'T WORK! It has been tried countless times and failed every. single. time. And so it will always do. It's not hard to figure out why.

Moreover, the climate alarmist is just a sub-set ideology designed entirely to paint capitalism as the great evil that destroys our planet for its own greed.

Yet they completely forget the absolute wholesale destruction of the environment under the Soviet Union. In fact; they actively deny it.

https://socialist-alliance.org/alliance-voices/ecological-disaster-was-ussr-0

Quote:
Adam asks, “Are we honestly saying that the entire Soviet Union was an ecological disaster?” Later, he asserts: “To suggest the environmental damage was on the same level as the rest [?] of the capitalist world is drawing a very long bow indeed.”

Quote:
On this basis, let me agree with Adam that the damage done to the environment by the Soviet regime and its successor doesn’t remotely bear comparison with that in the West. It was, and remains, catastrophically worse. Particular countries elsewhere, especially in the developing world, have suffered one or another ecological disaster, sometimes of mind-bending dimensions. The USSR managed something in just about every sector of heavy industry to match the worst of them.

If ecomentalism wasn't an existential threat to capitalism then the slacktivist wankers wouldn't bother championing it at all.

Oh no, I'd argue it just doesn't work well enough. If one were generous one could argue Communism murdered half a billion in the 20th Century. Rack up the body count into several billion and there would be some hope to turn back Climate Change.

Unchecked global population growth feeds into ever increasing consumerism. The latter is demonised by the socialists (quite rightly) but the former is never talked about Thinking

I would say 'good point' but if China, the only place to call a communist (dictatorship) country can't get a hold on mass extermination, what chance the rest of the world.

Six Extinction Rebellion protesters have been cleared of causing criminal damage to Shell’s London headquarters despite the judge directing jurors that they had no defence in law.

I suppose really they should be annoyed about this. It’s not much of a rebellion when you smash stuff up and the authorities just go, “Ah, that’s okay, you cheeky monkeys! Wink

Hopefully it comes from a place of "they've already shredded all their credibility, imprisonment wouldn't serve the public good."

Reminds me of the photos of parliament: "look! look! they all turn out to vote themselves a wage increase!!!" and it's completely made up. I've even called people out on Facebook for lying and they've just come back with "yeah, but it's true innit even if it's not the right picture" Rolling Eyes

Seriously, the world is in a bad enough state without the need to make stuff up Sad
