They've learnt from XR's mistakes; only protest in locations where the police can get to you before Joe & Joanna Public.

Protestors told not to block Scotlands busiest motorway during COP 26.

They done fucked up:

Farnborough [private] Airport entrances blocked by protesters

It's one thing to mess with the rabble but now they're moving into "XR protesters found dead in warehouse, suicide pact suspected..."

They haven't fucked up at all.

"an airport spokeswoman said authorities were monitoring the situation and the airport was still fully operational"

It's excellent... the protesters are having fun sitting on metal tripod things and locking themselves to a limo whilst at the same time the airport is still fully operational.

They've worked out how to have their protests without making the general public wanting them dead so such protests should be actively encouraged.

Even if they did manage to block all entrances to Farnborough Airport then the airport can still stay fully operational. XR people haven't realised that rich people flying from Farnborough on a private plane can also get to the airport by taking a flight from a nearby private airport. Dance!

Another day, more unwashed vegans sitting in the middle of roads.

Videos here... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10056407/Now-eco-mob-block-Blackwall-Tunnel-Insulate-Britain-launch-ELEVENTH-day-protests.html

Luckily members of the public were able to remove some of the vegans from Wandsworth Bridge before the police arrived. Laughing

Can they really be doing that much damage to our road network compared with our own (imported) road workers?

A snowplough attachment or loading shovel would be handy.

I read somewhere they are planning to bring the M77, M74 and M8 in Scotland to a halt by blocking the Kingston bridge during the COP26 Summit. They better hope the Police get to them very quick otherwise they will likely get a bit of a kicking here.

Climbing up bridges over the roads would cause the motorways to be closed for longer than they are when XR people sit in the way.

There's no danger of that happening because they're not even nearly committed enough to their cause to do something like climb up a bridge over live motorways. Most of XR and Insulate Britain appear to be upper middle class hypocrites who're happy to sit in the road to cause disruption but the idea of doing something that's as dangerous as climbing the bridge over a motorway and refusing to come down would be far too much for them.

I think that they could keep roads closed for days if they climbed up a bridge and were then uncooperative with the police about coming down.

They would be more effective joining my local authoritys roads dept, they might be better at fixing the potholes as well.

And they are back, the geriatric speed bump brigade.
https://news.sky.com/story/insulate-britain-return-after-10-day-break-and-block-roads-in-london-police-on-scene-12444110

A more organised standardised tactic to discourage them would be good, along the lines of throwing eggs or even paint.
Something very stinky would be better.

God they piss me off. Go and sit in the entrances to Westminster and piss off the MP's but leave 'normal' people alone. Wnon't happen though because the anti terrorist and VIP protection units at the Houses of Parliament won't mess around worrying about bad press when they break som protesters nail.

One woman who first glued her hand down was taken away by police and as she was released, she screamed and said she was "in agony"
.

I hope so but very much doubt it.

I went round the Houses of Parliament when this Insult Britain stuff was just kicking off and there were plod aplenty. They wouldn't even have managed to get the cap off a tube of glue before being pounced on.

It seems a bizarre tactic to use over and over in the face of escalating hostility.
Nobody is 'against' funding for more insulation but what's that got to do with snarling up traffic for hours.
It's like playground tactics to bully someone in an attempt to always get your way - it can never be allowed to succeed.

It's actually worse than that because it's like demanding Pete hand over his conkers or else Jane gets a slap Laughing

They're still smarter than the CND crusties years ago who chained themselves to the gates as Faslane submarine base.

The duty officer looked them up and down, unlocked the gates and opened them, complete with protesters still chained to them. Really should have chained themselves ACROSS the gates.

What they're asking for make a lot of sense, it doesn't need create or destroy any industries, it doesn't doesn't require any mythical tech that hasn't been invented yet and it will create jobs or support existing companies and boost the economy.

But its a drop in the ocean, it won't make a blind bit of difference till the big polluters such as China and India get on board and start sorting out their carbon emissions.

I don't think it will take much longer before someone gets violent with them, Their leaders have all been shown up for the rank hypocrite they are and they're not winning any support blocking roads and preventing people getting to hospital or to see dying relatives.

No, they're not asking for anything. They're demanding things and are prepared to allow ppl to die for their cause (not they themselves obviously as they're all cowards.)

Given that unlike most mammals humans primary sense is vision it's pretty much a given that facial expressions are very important. They add a lot of context before and during a conversation. Secondary to that would be hearing, a conversation over the phone is not as good as a face-to-face.

Take out both visual and auditory cues and it can be very difficult to get a handle on context. This leads me to wonder if the insanity that is Twitter is due to this lack of context. And the messages are artificially restricted in size to exasperate the problem. Consider a good book, very dense, whereas the film version takes much less time - "a picture paints a thousand words" and all that. The aphorisms just tumble out, "you wouldn't say that to my face" springs to mind.

And that's what I find so egregious: ppl are getting out of their vehicles and pleading with these terrorists protesters, tearfully begging for ambulances to be let through or explaining the need to visit a relative receiving palliative* care. Water off a duck's back.

If they can blissfully ignore the visual and auditory cues, even the conversation for "the greater good" can we even consider them human?

*damn you, autocorrect
