In other, related news, there's an event in Builth Wells over the Whitsun bank holiday weekend called No Bull Just Beer & Bikes.

https://nobullbeerandbikes.co.uk

Nice place to ride to, lots of pretty, twisty roads nearby.

Could be a dry run for BBQ??

As I've already booked the Bastard family's annual holiday for the traditional bbq weekend I could be pursuaded to attend if I knew at least one other person was attending.

Search the National section of the forum and see what constitutes as 'activities'....I'll save you trouble.

Laughing...and lots of it.
Intoxicants - see above.
Ride outs.
Slightly above standard fry ups.
Shooting things.
Exploding things.
Fixing bikes.
Modding bikes.
Breaking bikes.
Burning things.
Listening to really intelligent people talk about things they know a lot about (TBH I just nod my head and smile).

Actually meeting half decent humans.
Detonating a human.
Burning humans - Well...they get pissed and like moths are drawn to a fire etc etc.
Puking is rare but it does happen.
Minor niggles are very rare in my experience of going to them.

Plus a phone should always be at hand(think at the time we were googling somethingsomething feltching.

[edit] and monstertrucks. FFS!!! Rolling Eyes

Some of us brought our own entertainment and got to play with it several times. Mine had Boobies.

I gave debden a call earlier.

They seem pretty chilled out, but she basically just said do everything through the website and all the info we need is on there too. From what I can see it's a tenner per person per night, we can book a big plot, each big plot takes 11-15 tents so we'd possibly need two. We can request two side by side if we have decent numbers.

I didn't mention we'd mostly be arriving on bikes, doesn't seem relevant. Obviously they won't let us razz around on Motorcross bikes but I've seen people use RC stuff there without raising too many eyebrows, and I let off a home made water rocket a few times when I stayed there without any issues. I think basically so long as we don't completely take the piss they're cool with us having some fun.

They ask noise is kept down after 10pm not 11 as I first thought. I've never stayed in the big groups field to be fair so they might be a little more lenient, they cater for big groups of over 30+ adults so it can't be that unusual!

I'm not much of an organiser of big groups, but if there's no volunteers (?) I don't mind making a list of interested people and making the booking, just need to agree some dates. I'd suggest maybe the last weekend of July (26/27/28) but open to options.

It tends to be drunken quiet talking at night, crap tunes aside, so that wouldn't be an issue really.
