I bought my Gen 1 Fazer Thou over 4 years ago - it has had some nasty scratches on the headlights since purchase and on removing the top fairing, I found that a fitting lug had snapped off and had been bodged with a bit of right-angle metal.

Over as long as I can remember since then, I've been looking for replacement headlights - Yamaha originals cost about £350 - too much for my piss-poor war pension.

Anyway, I've been concentrating on finding some over the last month - searching the supplier websites every day and ebay several times every day for weeks. Loads there, but all with broken lugs

I was offered some on FB but a little over what I wanted to pay for used, so kept looking and was just about to pay for the ones on FB, when I stumbled across a guy in Poland on ebay, selling brand new genuine Yamaha UK headlights, still boxed, for £125 + £25 postage.

They arrived today, and I did a little celebratory dance around the lounge! Brand new and £125!!!

Fuck me, I'm chuffed! Very Happy

Thumbs Up

I recently had a similar find. I have been looking all over the place for auxiliary lights for my KTM. KTM themselves did a plug-and-play option but these were discontinued a while back and although lots of KTM parts suppliers list them, nobody had them in stock. I looked for ages, then gave up and started looking at alternative options.

Just as I was about to order some aftermarket ones I thought I'd do one last sweep for the KTM ones, using the part numbers I had found. Bingo - a set popped up on eBay France, apparently new-old-stock and somewhat cheaper than listed elsewhere. I ordered with little hope of success but around 10 days later they arrived - all intact, all new in boxes but they had clearly been sat in a workshop somewhere for ages as the boxes were battered and a bit mouldy. The parts were all perfect though and are now fitted and working - possibly the last new set anywhere.
