Also, yes a lot of MH problems were addressed under "eccentricity, grumpy, etc. before". My experience is that those who haven't experienced it themselves tend not to understand it, and would tell the sufferer to "Get a grip". I say this because that's how i used to think.

For example, I wouldn't expect someone like mpd (no offense) to understand it in others, and would just say that words have been invented to make excuses for ineptitude etc. these days.

The first highlighted part I totally agree. I have no idea what mental health issues do to you because I am a totally normal well adjusted person Whistle

On the second highlighted part though, I think there is some truth in that which goes back to the present day trend of labelling everything so there is a reason for it.

My point being the cunt who smashed all the windows on my boat would probably be labelled *something* if he was caught. He can't just be a little cvnt because we are not allowed to just have little cvnts, there has to be a medical reason for it.

Good point actually. Some may have ADHD, and some might just not give a shit about other people's property.

no just me, i have no actual need for it and half the time i cant be arsed to use it to go anywhere, but i still want one (just not the one i currently have) but i cant get what i want cause id look like a fairy.

As a faux-cruiser rider I resemble that remark!

Anyhoo, I've had occasional moments lately where I've thought "not long now, sunshine." My dad keeled over at 80 of basically a heart attack so only 33 years to go most likely. The moment usually passes. So much to do! It's best to keep busy. It is pretty obvious that life is shit and mother nature will attempt to kill you at any and every opportunity. IMO it is essential to extract some meaning from your life to make the suffering bearable.

I know plenty of ppl won't want to hear this but as well as getting ignored by your GP or paying for an analyst there is always your local church. Most priests are actually trained these days to handle mental health issues as well as trying to save your soul Razz BTW belief in God or Gods is not essential to seek their help.

I was brought up high church and our Vicar was one of those that was all over the community helping anyone he could, parishioner or not.

I would like to think there are still those people around but I rather doubt it nowadays. I can't see someone welcoming in a priest or whatever turning up on his doorstep. I wouldn't.

Another potential resource probably way underused because of the modern trend of church bashing.

Edited to add the Missions to Seamen was one of the most used facilities in every port I went to, probably even more than the bars and brothels. There has been a lot of good from the church in my life. Pity I don't believe any of the claptrap that goes with it.

MDMA we aren't going to argue about the price of tampons, are we?

You are quoting the cheap end of the market with less absorbency. You wouldn't be able to play tennis or ride a big horse on a beach wearing your white shorts with one of those up your poon.

Conventional 'branded' tampons cost more than 5p each, and I quote:

https://www.medino.com/product/tampax-super-plus-with-applicator-20s?msclkid=018d01e96a1919a799f55d30e1f63b3b&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Bing%20Shopping%20all%20price%20groups&utm_term=4577885383586041&utm_content=1.5-3

Add to that the cost of sanitary towels at:

https://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/grocery-categories/Sanitary_Towels_in_Tesco.html

Can you see where I am getting my 13p from yet? If you knew any women other than yo' momma, you'd know all this.....

I can't believe I'm having this argument!!!!

They go off topic? Guilty! Was so tempted to talk about grass cutters here but won't..

I see mental health in everyone. I've always said that people have issues on many different levels - no one is perfect is what I mean. It's OK though because it gives variety in people and makes us unique.

My biggest bone with the mental health issue is the complete lack of trained pros fixing folk and the lack of funds to do it.
Up here in the North East it was decided that creating a large organisation to clear the mental health backlog would be a great idea. Unfortunately it was desk people who decided that. It's a shambles and all people are suffering - have some examples..
Woman and raped? Group therapy is recommended. I kid ye not. The actual reason is to be able to get the numbers of sufferers down quickly and in budget.
Male rape victim? There WERE specialist organisations up here dealing with it but the larger one muscled in and took the meager pickings that were available to fund this niche team. If you're a male rape victim and don't fancy doing group therapy to get over it then you'll have to fund the help yourself.
I could go on. Destroying important budgets to fund other pointless things has decimated the help available up here. That big organisation though? They use funds to promote how well they're doing things. They get creative with statistics to make it look like they're the place to fund to help people. They're not.
I've always seen poorly people like this: Fix them and soon and not only can they enjoy what life they have left but will also be productive and useful to society. If you half fix them or not at all then they'll never be any of the above. It's stupid to not fix people.

Mental health...? Had it all me life.
I daresay I suffer from something or other...I don't overthink it.

Somedays I'm less stabby than others. Dance!

There are no cure-alls. Medication my friend was taking certainly helped him for a while whereas my other mate gradually entered the 'not fit for work..sectioned...drugged...released' cycle. Tell yer, if at all possible do not get sectioned or admit yourself, at least not where they live.

I've spent many hours visiting and when you see a friend with a cut on his head because he started shouting his frustration (not letting him into the 'compound' for a ciggie) then gets jabbed by a nurse and keels over due to the drugs...well.... you as his friend are powerless to help as much a they are.

On the otherhand another friend (yes I attract and love the mentals) admitted himself, prior to he'd taken a sabbatical..started showing signs of issues...then moved onto self-harming...Proper intelligent chap was Mike and articulate with it. A fine mechanical engineer..anyways he admitted himself and stayed there for a few months.
Re-assembled his head and went on to discover...wait for it...wait for it...Religion.
FFS! Laughing

Anyway, I was happy he found a crutch..he got married and shortly after died from cancer...such is life eh.

There is no point I'm trying to make, but it is good to talk about these things isn't it.

Yes it is Mr Terror.

my mother killed herself one December, funeral was Dec 22nd
(her brother died of a heart attack a year later, funeral was Dec 23rd*
Merry Christmas. Rolling Eyes )

Asked GP for some bereavement counselling, got told there was a bit of a wait. Got a phone call late March the next year, by then I'd been hitting the bottle hard for three months and wasn't interested. Don't drink now Thumbs Up

This is where the system failed IMHO.

Pulled myself up by my bootlaces, and got a "proper job" the sort I would've got had I got an education, and ended up helping to run a Citizens Advice, I was pretty good at it. But, the further up the career ladder I climbed, the more bullshine there was to deal with. Always some senior manager on my case, about "results" and "audits" and why on this day, did this adviser not dot this i and cross this t? Also for seven years I spent every working day, day in, day out listening to other peoples problems, and one day I thought "Stuff this" I'm out.
the stress of the job was making me really unhappy, I was so fed up.

Though like a proper grown up, I actually worked my notice over 2 months.

One of my friends who is a bit of a worry pants, was besides himself when I told him I'd quit, and couldn't understand why I wasn't worried. But I wasn't. I don't regret leaving, and I'd do it the same again.

Forum I visit has, shall we say, a nutter on it.
First experience of this guy was when he was minging drunk then his conversation turned to killing himself.
Lots of folk trying offer words of help. He was talki g about killing himself but able to give out his Mobile number and asking for someone to call him.
One of the folk called him.
He chimes in from time to time involves himself with what ever is the topic to begin with.
But 1/2 hour later turn the topic onto his personal problems and asking folknto call him.
It isn't totally ignored but it is disruptive to the conversation. He spits the dummie if he thinks no one is paying him enough attention and starts bad mouthing people.
I think the mod doesn't exactly want to ban him but the hammer is hanging by a thread for this chap.
He needs help but that forum is not the best place.
I don't think he would last one thread on here. 😊

All I know is, how ever much you hear women banging on about how awful periods are and using them as an excuse
to be an arse whenever they feel like it. It's rarely bad enough for them to go get spayed. Is it? Can you do that? Yes? No?
If no, why not? They're happy to go and get their (in no particular order) tits, teeth, lips, arse, stomachs all nipped up a
bit costing 1000's. Given it's about the same size procedure as on a large dog, then surely bunging the old quack a monkey
to turn the flow off for good would be first modification on the list. It's not like many of them want kids these days is it?

Serious question, when you consider how much of what women present is actually fake or synthetic. Even if you
don't include cosmetic surgery (although I do think fillers, botox and stuff still counts as cosmetic tbh) the hair and nails
to the make up is all smoke and mirrors so you'd think permanently taking the pole down for the red flag would be a no1
mod. Especially as after you've been decatted you can also be a right old slapper 4 weeks a month if you like and no pesky
tell tale maybe babies. I can't see why this isn't a thing.

Sounds a bit like Borderline Personality Disorder but that's unusual for a bloke.

This I know of: my wife, at one time or another, has had the painters in for 3 weeks out of 4. At that level you can't even leave the house and that's not even getting into the pain. Needless to say she suffered from depression.

So after struggling to have kids (2 out of 3 have survived) she had her giblets out at the age of 27.
