Eh up everyone. My ninja keeps blowing light bulbs and fuses. Examples - month ago speedo bulb went. Horn connector failed. Brake light bulb went week before last. All four flashers stopped working Saturday just gone.

So - I say "keeps" blowing this, that and the other. But perhaps it doesn't. For instance, although the horn thing is - yes - electrical, it'll be down to a bad connector, a bit of oxide furring...something like that.

That one's therefore probably not part of the emerging pattern. Problem is, everything else seems to point to a deep malaise in the guts of the charging system. Out today and the other of the two brake light bulbs burned out on me. The other week it was the nearside one (since replaced), this time the offside bulb.

Regarding the flashers all quitting - that wasn't the relay, but the 10A fuse, since replaced. And all working fine again.

But it's pissing me off a bit because I'm getting paranoid it's stator problems, or regulator shit. The latter ain't too bad but the former's a bit scary. Ninja experts poo-poo me and say the charging system is long since proven as strong and reliable, and of course, I want to believe it. But after today I'm starting to wonder. Neutral

Start off simple and check that all earthing locations are clean and secure? That's where I'd start anyway.

Have you checked the charging voltage by putting a multimeter across the battery terminals and increasing revs to around 5k?

Blown bulbs are always a shit earth. If they're blowing all over the bike look at the battery/frame connection.
