After a cbr 600rr I like this one - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CBR600-RR-SUPERBIKE-SPLASH-EDITION-R6-GSXR-GSX-GSR-R1/352645163871?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

but it's on an 05 plate, thought these models came out later?

Dunno if it is, but the title of the listing is, I wish people would not do that.

"MIEAGE 25,000" - they mean it had 26,033 miles on the clock in June last year.

"GREATD MOT" - it expires on the 10th of June.

"FULL AKROPOVIC EXHAUST SYSTEM CARBON COST £1200" - I do like the Yoshimura can that's fitted to the bike.

It's not a Splash edition, the fairings are aftermarket ones.

Obviously got the work-experience lad to type up the listing. I'll inform the grammar nazis there's another name for their hit list!

Compare and contrast this one, which looks like a genuine (FHSH etc) one. On the eBay one note the graphics layout on the LHS and RHS panels and how the little circular "600RR" roundels align with the "CBR Limited Edition" decal. Those definitely look like copy panels. The Visordown (probably genuine) one is a 2009 bike - unlikely they did the same 'limited edition' in 2005 and 2009.

It's obviously had a less-than-discerning owner (who has "PUT SOME SERIES TIME AND EFFORT AND MONEY IN TO THIS BIKE") in the past, evidence from the MOT history:

Quote:
Repair immediately (major defects):
Headlamp light source and lamp not compatible (4.1.4 (c))
Stop lamp lens defective such that the emitted light is adversely affected with indicators (4.3.1 (b) (ii))

Either an LED or HID headlight bulb was in there and no doubt one of those combined brake-light-indicator LED units (note the apparent lack of rear indicators).

It's as dodgy as Vince Vaugh in that film about the game where you have to avoid being struck by a ballistic spheroid.

I've had dealings with that company... PM me if you want to know more detail as I don't want to post too much on a public forum.

I will however say this:

Not necessarily actively evil or deceptive or out to rip you off, necessarily... but keep the Fools and Horses character 'Del Boy' in mind.

AutoTrader punt ads for dealers that are 100% misleading.

I was looking for a HONDA CG125
Punch the detail into the filter and hit search.
All sorts of pikey bastirts crawl out from under the woodwork.
I phoned one to let him known that his Honda CG125 was in fact a Chinese machine from a Chinese company not a Japanese bike from a Japanese company.
Not a CG125.
He argued his point. Got all irrate so I told him, fuck off you fat bastirt.
Taxis, Car and Bike Dealers R bastirts.

eBay don't like keyword spamming so feel free to report the listing to them. Wink

Category: Listing practices
Reason for report: Search and browse manipulation
Detailed reason: Keyword spamming

I've seen GSX-R K8's going for 4k with half that mileage.

Seems like a lot of money for the year/model/mileage

And yes that title is horrid.

I'd rather have these:

I'm not saying that they're definitely scammers as maybe English just isn't that person's first language, but scammers do tend to add obvious typos in their adds so that they know if anyone does bite then it's someone who they can easily control, filtering them out from the clever-ish people.

That's one reason why I prefer private sellers rather than dealers. The overheads are so high that anything under £4K is either a 125 or a rust bucket. For the same cost of a garage bike + warranty you could buy the bike from a private seller in equal or better condition, write it off, then buy another one.

Interestingly I was chatting to a BMW Motorrad salesman yesterday, and he was telling me that the powers that be have now strictly forbidden them from describing themselves as 'dealers' owing to the negative connotations of the word.
It's "retailers" now, please

Also.... I bought my 2008 600RR a couple of years back for £2500. It's tatty admittedly, but for the money asked in that listing I reckon you could get a semi decent 2007 model. The best model IMO.

The list of items they have for sale looks like a typical scammer page, but they do appear to be a genuine seller.

Normally anyone selling a collection of valuable Motox bikes, Jet ski's, Speed boats and Sports bikes is an obvious scam.

Nah, the guy is about 24 years old, has his own business selling pitbikes and parts. He got successful quickly. Last time I saw him he was selling an Evo 7, so I suspect he uses the business to fund his toy habits.

That works. Smile

Two directors, one is 28 and the other is 30.

And they seem to be doing quite well, https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08839070/filing-history but you've probably already guessed that as they've got nearly £300,000 of toys listed on eBay. Laughing
