Repaint rear shocks... worth the bother?

So I was eyeballing my faux-cruiser on a virtual fag break...

To the casual glance there are only two bad bits of rust on the bike: one of the little inspection disk thingies on the cylinder head that I just haven't got around to sanding an spraying and the rear shocks...

Oh there's loads of other rust lurking out of direct sight but

Anyhoo, the springs aren't even chrome - just painted silver with rust showing through Sad Any recommended procedure for repainting? Rust-olum, PlastiDip?
