I've bought a 13S R6 shock absorber to replace the standard shock on my FZS600. It's a relatively well known mod (or was...) but as these bikes have become quite old, I'm struggling to find anyone to supply the conversion kit.

I need a spacer (aluminium) to make up for the shorter spring that's required, I've attached the dimensions required. Where is the best place to get something like this made, any forums I could ask that someone would be able make a bespoke thing like this for not extortionate money?

Here, I should think. There are at least a couple of people who have a lathe and could do the job, and would only have your forearm off, not the whole thing.

During one of my rebuild projects, I needed some very accurate machining done.
I had a look, (Google/yellow pages etc.), for local engineering people, I found one quite easily.
The guy I found was more than happy to do the small amount of machining I needed doing, for a very reasonable price.
I asked him if I he would like a mention on the forum, he was more than happy for me to do this.

My point is, there will be small, independent machine shops, (not necessarily bike or car specialists), near you, who will like to do the work, who will also be pleased if you can recommend them to people requiring similar work.

I’ve PM’d you.

Cheers Sid, you PM doesn't seem to have gone through?

I did consider a local engineering firm but assumed they wouldn't want to do a one-off as it wouldn't be worth their time setting it all up..

Have you tried PMing kebab19 on the FOC-U forum? Or post in kebab's R6 shock mod thread, currently on the first page of the FZS600 section.

If I can find a bit of stock I'll knock one up for you. Might not be today though as I'm half way through a full brake system over-haul on my bike.
