Doctors are fucking unhelpful when it comes to motorbikes.
They'll give you a facetious answer like "Never would be soon enough for me." (that is a direct quite from the orthopaedic registrar who wa schecking my wrist x-rays after I got the cast off).
Ask about something else that is percieved as healthy that has a similar level of bounce/movement. Moutain biking or kayaking or something. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

I was told 6 weeks.
It's a proper operation so give your body time to heal but don't lozz about.
I'm relatively fit and the op I had was the belt n braces jobbie. Layer of gauze done under general.
I did get on the bike after a month but soon realised I was getting twinges of pain. It's a sports tourer so the position wasn't as relaxed as say a commuter bike.
Tried again after bit. I think about 10 days. All good.
That was a decade ago,. When I occasionally do a full days ride I still feel a twinge of discomfort.
What I find strange is to this day I don't know what caused the hernia in the first place. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

I had hernia surgery a year ago, I was able to ride back to work after 2 weeks without any issue. As long as you don't do any moves that are intense on your core muscles you should be fine ____________________ DAS passed: 21/07/14
