Donald Trump protest groups swell as baby blimp team ‘confident’ it will fly.

https://home.bt.com/news/uk-news/donald-trump-protest-groups-swell-as-baby-blimp-team-confident-it-will-fly-11364366214781

Don't people have better things to do?

I'm not particularly a fan but I don't hate him. I certainly couldn't be arsed to go and protest about him as if

1) It would make any difference to him.
2) Stop him coming here
3) it is any of our business, he's the Yank president. They chose him.
4) Anyone would dare throw a milkshake over him.

I find it a little bit embarrassing that people are so rude to a guest to our country.

I wouldn't want it happen to Macron or Merkel or any other head of state on an official visit whether I supported their ideas or not.

Anyone else feel the same or do you think it's right people use any platform to show their personal distaste for someone?

Yeah I agree.
The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if some nob head started a crowd funding campaign to get him arrested or something.

Peter Tatchell is pretty left-wing and he tried to do a citizen's arrest of Mugabe...

You have to draw the line somewhere but as far as I can tell the only thing objectionable about Trump [to the left] is that he's not Hilary Clinton!

The Trump protests are a bit like petitions: Kinda pointless but get a little attention for 20 seconds.
(some petitions have worked yes but the majority nah)

On a similar note: Are those eco hippies still causing bother in London or have they gone on holidays around the world?

He's not green enough for the crazy eco warriors that can never be wrong about anything. He's not squeaky clean and anti racist or feminine enough for women on a power trip or leftie Millenials either.

Personally I don't think a head of state could ever be nice or good enough in today's world to command unequivocal adoration from the population and be seen as a hero or someone who is respected universally among their nation or the world.

Im with Polarbear though, in that however I feel about anyone in power or in politics I think we should show them a certain amount of respect as civil human beings.

The crazies and the fanatical activists will never be able to do so though and it's as pathetic as fuck tbh!

He's white* enough though, and male, so this kind of insult is deemed acceptable.

Yep, if you don't like the person the USA has elected, stay away. I don't like Trump but I agree that this kind of response shames Britain.

I've gone right off that bitch that is the NZ prime minister though, as despite the wrong of the recent anti Muslim attack, she has gone full out to ban promoting the nation and people waving the national flag. In my opinion that's the beginning of the end for any country when you can't be proud to be born in the country you live in.

The world is fucked up and it's a good job that it's suddenly going to die after 2020 because of us evil humans polluting it and the suddenly evil cattle we're eating , as it ain't worth preserving or saving IMO.

Yep, this makes no sense when people have chosen to migrate to that country because of its virtues, yet you mustn't laud the same in case it upsets... who?

Usual suspect blaming all the lefties again. He'd fit right in, as his modus operandi is to do the very thing he criticises them about.

You've clearly been indoctrinated well enough to think his status gives him some kind of real-world importance. It doesn't. He shits and pisses the same as the rest of us, was born between the two too and is a lowlife fucking nonce to boot. And 'we' are laying out the red carpet for it while it has a grand knees-up with the glorified cake decoration at buck palace? Lol!

If you have proof he is a nonce, show it, otherwise how about sticking to less emotive insults.

I've heard his recorded voice saying things about his own daughter, seen vids of him with her too. That's with his own female child so I'm not too bothered with 'proof' regarding other female children. He's an American political jimmy saville.

We can deal with Trump while he is in office, or we can wait until he is replaced. Except we can't really wait if we're to have any dealings with the US meanwhile. To treat the US as a pariah state because of a 'distasteful' president isn't really realistic. His status does give him some real-world importance, because his office carries power - look at the trade wars he is starting for e.g.. It gives him power too because he is an elected leader - he is not one man alone.

protest really is mostly a social activity these days, anyone who just ignores them aren't ever affected in any real way.

No protests over the Isis killers burning people in cages, throwing gays off tall buildings, but the elected leader of another country visits and they're all triggered...

Ask yourself - would you trust him to babysit your teenage daughter, or take your wife out?

If your answer is 'no', then that is the mark of the man...

If your answer is 'yes' then it is a fair bet that you don't have either...

Say what you want about Left wing conspiracies, he is a dirty old bugger!

Well, he's currently babysitting the nuclear button, and armageddon hasn't hit yet.

And the girl in that picture doesn't look like she's complaining. Maybe she got a good payday that day.

I blame Bill Clinton: Trump would have had no chance getting in but good ol' Bill set a precedent! (You could argue it was actually JFK but they were better at keeping things quiet in those days.)
